About this Cook
I am nearly 30 and have three beautiful children. My eldest son enjoys cooking and looking at recipes (on allrecipes!). My daughter loves baking and of course licking out the bowl! I have just moved to Maryland. My husband is American but has lived in UK for 18 years. Looking at crabcake recipes already-hope to impress the in-laws! Oh I am a huge fan of LOST.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook muffins and cookies for my children. I do not like buying shop stuff as too many preservatives etc. Homemade always taste best and fresher. Love playing around with spices.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Not really any. Except gingerbread men at christmas time and lemon sugar pancakes Shrove Tuesday.
My cooking triumphs
CHOCOLATE BEETROOT CAKE!! Everyone asks for the recipe. My made up peach peanut butter muffins.
My cooking tragedies
pouring a whole tub of black pepper on the egg mayo sandwhich mix before guests arrived. Trying to scoop it out and then realising black egg mayo looks awful but is a tad too hot..I did bin it.. A beef stew that tasted like babyfood....husband not impressed..

Excellent Oatmeal Cookies
wonderful!! very tasty. Husband really enjoyed them and he is very fussy. He even asked me to make them again which made me very happy! I did add dried cranberries , milk choc chips and a few sunflower seeds to the basic recipe and only used half a cup of walnuts. I also feel this recipe is very good value for money as you get a good quantity.

Lemon Biscuits
made these with my children. Nice simple recipe to follow. you must chill dough in fridge if you want to make shapes with cookie cutters as it was a bit sticky. They tasted lovely - nice with a cup of tea !.Children really loved them . They kept quite nicely in an air tight tin for three days. Would make again. My husband enjoyed his with some vanilla ice cream. Oh and make sure you take them out of oven when EDGES are turning golden brown as they cook faster on the bottom and may burn without you realising!!!!

Mocha Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins
Scrummy! My children do not drink coffee and I asked them to guess the 'magic ingredients' My son said banana. I told him coffee was in the muffins too. He was quite impressed.A recipe catering to adult and children alike. I did add slightly more coffee and replaced 1/8 of butter with applesauce.
