About this Cook
I'm into nutrition/fitness and writing moral philosophy. I love The Simpsons, Scrabble, roller coasters and reading on the beach. I would never cook if I didn't have someone to cook for - cooking is all about nurturing to me.
My favorite things to cook
Spaghetti is my old standby - it's fast, fun and always tastes delicious. But I ESPECIALLY love cooking anything I've never cooked before. And quick breads are fun too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't really have any, because I hated cooking when I was younger - I couldn't even scramble eggs. I picked up cooking on my own, as an adult.
My cooking triumphs
When this guy I had a crush on was over at my house, I cooked him glazed apple cookies from this site, and other things like my own special spaghetti and chicken fajitas. He absolutely loved everything I cooked - now that's success! (And we've been in a relationship now for two and a half years....ahem....)
My cooking tragedies
Any time I use too much salt is a tragedy to me!

Pasta Fazul
This was amazing. My boyfriend and I inhaled it and went back for seconds. I ended up using two cans of cannellini beans. They have such a great texture! I also used a can of diced tomatoes instead of whole and used dried parsley instead of fresh. Yummy!

Pasta Bake
Anything this cheesy is going to go over well at my house. ;-) I took the advice of others and mixed only 1 cup of the mozzarella into the pasta, then I stirred it after 10 minutes of cooking, then added the other cup of mozzarella on top and cooked for the other 10 minutes. It was delish and fun/easy to make.

Best Ever Split Pea
This truly was the best ever split pea soup. I didn't use celery and put a little turmeric in instead of the seasoning blend. I also didn't need to puree any of it because it came out perfect without it. :)
