This is a good start to an easy chicken and dumplings recipe, but I'm only giving it three stars because I think it needs tweaking. First, instead of adding water, I'd suggest chicken broth for more flavor. Secondly, I can't imagine using two packages of biscuit dough because I only used one 12-ounce package and even that was too much dough. Also, 30 minutes is definitely not long enough to cook the dough, and I added the dough when I knew I had an hour or so more to cook. The chicken itself was very good and tender and next time, I'll probably add some seasoning and vegetables and even more chicken broth.
