Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
This was a very simple recipe (hey, no vanilla pudding required!) Using the tips from the top most rated review here and the Perfect Cookie article , my cookies came out fantastic! Remember: chewy cookies should cool on the sheet for 5 minutes! Crispy cookies should cool on sheet for 1 minute then be transferred to a wire rack! Thanks Elizabeth for sharing this!

Grandma's Fresh Apple Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
Thank you for posting an apple cake recipe that does not list cake mix as one of the ingredients. I was really worried when I mixed in the flour with the egg/sugar/oil as it started to resemble cookie dough, not cake batter. The apples however solved that problem once I added them. Overall this was easy to make and came out beautifully. Thanks for sharing!

Peppermint Meringues

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
Very easy recipe! :D I unfortunately didn't have cream of tartar at hand but I used a few drops of lemon juice as a substitute and my meringues came out just fine. I was a bit confused about the amount. I *did not* get 48 meringues out of this batch. I made at most, 12. o.O Otherwise, thanks for great recipe!

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2007
When I tried making this the first time, I followed some reviewers' suggestions for substituting the oil for applesauce. Unfortunately, the loaf came out with the wrong consistency and didn't taste great. Now after using the oil (as the recipie called for, which I should've used in the first place), light brown sugar, and fresh pumpkin puree, this came out GREAT. Even my mom, who doesn't have much of a sweet tooth, loved it.

Ratatouille

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
Very good ^_^ although I think the prep time should be corrected. This took way longer than 15 min to prepare but in spite of that, I think my labor paid off. I had to skip out on the cheese since one of my family members is vegan but she (and I) still loved it. Mine was slightly on the liquidy side so I think I'll serve this with rice or bread next time to soak up the liquid as other reviewers have done

Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2007
1. Very easy to make; cleanup was a breeze 2. Gingerbread cutouts came out with right texture and didn't lose their shape 3. This is definitely a "darker" tasting gingerbread. I personally thought the molasses overwhelmed the gingerbread so I couldn't really taste the spices...

Heavenly Angel Food Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2007
I love this recipie...! The cake was very easy to make and tasted wonderful. Cleanup was a breeze and the ingredients were very easy to procure. Finally a angel food cake recipie that doesn't call for cake flour but that can work with something I have.

Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2007
I followed the instructions exactly, chilled the dough double the time and I still had a very difficult time handling the dough. I didn't realize it'd be so sticky so I had to heavily flour my board before rolling and cutting shapes out of the dough. The result was just a floury mess. I obviously made a mistake but I don't know what I did wrong exactly...

Chocolate Oil Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2007
What a fantastically easy recipe. I loved the fact I only needed to use one bowl. This cake was certainly moist, not chewy though and after reading one or two reviews that commented the cake tasted less "chocolate-y," I added in more cocoa powder and just melted a chocolate bar to make the frosting. Otherwise, this recipe was great. Thanks for sharing!
