Classic Waffles

I have always made my own waffles. The amount of baking powder seemed to much, but I was in a hurry and didn't bother to compare recipes. You can taste the baking powder strongly. Thankfully I always decrease salt, so that wasn't a problem, I needed to increase the sugar, vanilla, and flour to get a passable waffle. I will not make these again.

Chocolate Crinkles II

I made 1 1/2 times the recipe, added 1/2 cup cocoa (since some people said it wasn't as rich as they expected, and it was too sticky) and 1/4 cup sugar and another Tablespoon good quality vanilla sugar. I put the dough in the freezer for 1 1/2 hours. It worked out fine, as, as soon as you start rolling the cookies into balls and gently covering with powdered sugar, some of the sugar stays on your hands and prevents the next cookie from sticking. I used slightly heaping dessertspoons of the dough. They turned out great! (About 135 cookies -- not sure, cuz we were tasting!)

Great filling for Inside out caramel apples! It came out a little dry (though possibly my measurements were off) so I added a little peanut butter syrup.

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

I was too lazy to get out my own recipe. We accidentally bought too many tomatoes, so I pureed them and simmered them down, then added the seasonings as here. I doubled the garlic and added some basil, and it's great. If it's too acidic for you, simply add 1 tsp. sugar. I think it's funny that people change every ingredient and add another half dozen and then say the recipe is great! (I mean it is, but they are making something totally different!)

Rhubarb Pudding Cake

Very disappointing. Last year I used a different recipe which was much better. This was almost gummy and too sweet.

Baked Omelet Squares

I have been making almost the exact same recipe for years, minus the ham. You can mix everything together the night before, and leave in the pan in the fridge overnight, and bake it in the morning. You can also add herbs to the mixture.

Granny's Ice Cream

Try using half the sugar and dulce de leche to taste. Then mix in slightly salted toasted pecans at the end, just before freezing. Very smooth and delicious! Next time I want to try maple syrup in place of the sugar, and add walnuts.
