Well most of the family was gone tonight but Jared(the youngest son) had his friend Lincoln over.  So 3 of us ate.  I tried a new slow cooker recipe tonight that keeps the house from getting too hot in the summer and makes for a quick to put together meal.  It was called Orange Chicken with Angel Hair Pasta.  Recipe will follow.  I'd call this a very kid friendly recipe.  But you can't be gone all day like most slow cooker recipes since this one doesn't take a full 8 hours.  Since their was only 1 piece of chicken left, I'd say it's a keeper.  Since there is now a Butter Chocolate Cake in the oven now, guess it didn't make since to try and keep the house cool.  LOL

Orange Chicken with Angel Hair Pasta from Family Circle Mag
2/3 cup sweet and sour sauce
1/3 cup orange juice
2 TBSP quick tapioca
3 pounds chicken pieces, skin removed
1/4 TSP salt
1/2 pound angel hair

In slow cooker, mix sauce, juice and tapioca. Add chicken and toss around.  Cover and cook on HIGH 3 hours or LOW 5 hours.  Remove chicken. Stir salt into sauce.  Meanwhile prepare angel hair.  Drain, return to pot and toss with 1/2 cup sauce.  Serve with chicken and remaining sauce.

I used way too much phyllo dough one day and it took a long time to find the chicken inside.
