About this Cook
I'm a native Californian from the Bay Area, and moved to Plano, TX in 1997. I love to cook for family and friends and like to try new recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Making breakfast tacos for people at work; love to try to make my own version of things I've tasted in restaurants; favorite cuisines are Chinese and Mexican.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Portuguese/Asian dishes during the holidays when family comes to visit.
My cooking triumphs
Being successful at making dishes my grandmother used to make when I was a kid. Grama's recipes only listed ingredients, but not the method of how to cook.
My cooking tragedies
I can't tell you how many times I've almost caught the house on fire forgetting about the garlic bread under the broiler!

Mexican Rice III
Excellent recipe! The only change I made was not add the bell pepper and took the jalapeno seeds out. Just the right amount of spice.

Tiramisu Toffee Dessert
This is a super easy recipe and SO DELICIOUS! I used my Vietnamese coffee press so the coffee would be really strong. I only added 1/2 cup sugar with the cream cheese and substituted Kahlua for the chocolate syrup. I poured about a cup of the heavy cream in with it (this made the middle layer). I then beat the other cup of cream with about 1/4 cup of sugar and added about a 1/2 a teaspoon of vanilla extract (next time I think I'll add rum instead). I spread this mixture on top and put the crushed up Heath bar on last. All you other alcoholics out there will love it this!
