Artichoke Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
This was pretty good. I added eggplant to the vegetable mixture. That may have been the reason that it did not have quite as much sauce as I would have liked.

Zippy Burgers

Really, really good. I made this with beer (not beef broth) and marinated the beef for around an hour. Just the right amount of spice.

White Chili with Ground Turkey

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
This recipe has a unique flavor and tasted good. I made a few changes. I could not find canned chili peppers at the grocery store so I used 5 fresh serrano chili peppers. I used 3 to saute with the turkey mixture. The other 2 were pureed with the cannellini beans in the blender. That made it pretty spicy but the cinnamon and cumin still could be tasted. I also used about 3.5 cups of broth based on some of the previous reviews. If needed I will add more broth when I reheat. I have a feeling this might be better tomorrow after sitting for a bit. If I make this again, I may puree more of the beans.

This was very good. Next time I may try to reduce the amount of butter and add some additional garlic and/or spices.

Corn Off the Cob Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2008
I wasn't sure how this would turn out as I am not a big fan of sun-dried tomatoes, but it was really good. Nice balance of acidity and sweetness. Great crunchy texture too.

Leslie's Salty Grilled Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2008
This was a really easy and great way to make potatoes. Easy to adjust with other seasonings too. Next time I will poke more holes in the potatoes so that the butter and seasonings seep in to them more. Thanks for the recipe!

Craig's Mystic Wings

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2008
I was only able to marinate them for 2 hours but basted them with extra sauce while grilling. I also served them with extra sauce. They were ok, I am not sure if I would make them again.

Smokin' Scovilles Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
DELICIOUS!! I made just a few changes. I used 1 lb each lean ground turkey and lean ground beef. I also used the seeds from 1 habenero and added an extra half of another without seeds. Mine also reduced quite a bit, so I added an extra can of tomato sauce and about a cup of water. I also added an extra 1/4 cup or so of corn. The spiciness was well balanced and had a nice complex flavor.

Healing Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
I used other reviewers suggestions and this turned out well. I added 2 carrots and 2 celery stalks to the onion while sauteing it. I also used a clove of elephant garlic instead of the 2 cloves in the recipe. I used 1 cup of chicken stock and used about 4 tsp of bouillon and added an extra 2 cups of water. I used the juice from my canned tomatoes and added 4 tsp of ketchup for some extra sweetness. I used napa cabbage instead of regular cabbage. I added about a tsp of cayenne and about a tsp of italian dried herbs. A good recipe to build upon and make your own.

Wakula's First Attempt at Vegetable Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
Very tasty. I didn't have any celery salt and substituted mixed Italian dried herbs for the oregano, but other than that I didn't change a thing. Very warming, filling, and healthy.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
This was my first time making banana bread and this recipe is amazing!! I only made 1/2 and I had a huge loaf and a half dozen muffins. I did add the walnuts- next time I might try chocolate chips. Thank you for the great recipe!

Brazilian Chicken with Coconut Milk

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
Pretty good- very spicy. I cut the chicken up into bite size pieces. I didn't have any coriander so I substituted dried basil. Next time I would cut back on the cayenne by half, it overpowered some of the other flavors. I also added salt and pepper and thought the dish was very flavorful. I served with Brazilian White Rice (also from this website) and it complimented the dish well.

This soup was amazing!! I had some doubts at first, but I let it sit overnight and added some brown sugar because it was too spicy. Everyone raved about it. The apple chips are a must on top. Thanks for teh recipe!!

This was great. The only change I made was mixing in parmesan cheese because I felt there was an element missing from the dish.

Spectacular Marsala Glazed Carrots with Hazelnuts

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2007
I wasn't sure how this would turn out, but it was fantastic. The smokiness and crunchiness of the hazelnuts offset the sweetness of the carrots perfectly. Thanks for the recipe!

French Beef Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2007
Delicious! I deglazed the pan with a red wine after the meat browned per other reviewers' suggestion. I also added two cloves of garlic after adding my veggies and broth. I also ended up having to add a cup or so of water because it got thick too quickly. I can't wait to try the leftovers tomorrow!
