About this Cook
Still married to a great guy after 18 years! We have two wonderful children that help us grow veggies, and tend to animals, on our 10 acre farm. I am a children's counselor with a great therapy dog as my assistant. Jamming to tunes in the kitchen is my secret to great cooking.
My favorite things to cook
squash, pumpkin all asian foods. Currently experimenting with sushi. LOVE TO BAKE anything!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Granny was famous for her peach cobbler. Farm hands always wanted to work on her farm to get a spoonful of her awesome dessert. After 20 years, I have finally perfected cobbler too, but I'll never hold a candle to Granny's. My Aunt Beulah is known for her amazing corn bread. When I visit my family in Kentucky, I love to just sit in the kitchen with the girls and talk, cook and laugh. Cooking is all about family to me!
My cooking triumphs
I have won three blue ribbons at the Macon County Fair for my baking! I have my own homemade squash bread recipe that totally rocks, but I can't post it on allrecipes.com because it is a secret!!!
My cooking tragedies
I tried making a white bean soup once that came out looking like paper mache', and tasting like that old time kid's paste that I used in Kindergarten! I'm currently trying to patent the recipe as stucco!

Baked Kale Chips
Healthy and tasty but not something I'd care to eat each day.
