About this Cook
Married, Retirees,Long Road Trips, 4 adult children, 8 grandchildren, Portuguese, Irish, Italian and Spanish Ethnic background. Come from a long line of good cooks.Good Hostess's.Love to bring Dishes to pass. Everybody says when they win the lottery, they are going to hire me to cook for them. My husband is a great cook also. He is Polish and Ukranian. His mom is a super cook to. My mom, grandma, sister and aunts all Good Cooks! Kids like to cook.
My favorite things to cook
Pastas, Desserts, Salads, chicken...fried, baked or slow-cooked-grilled is great too.Love to make dishes to pass. Dips, hot/cold, veggie platters, sauces and stuffed eggs, cookies, cakes, pies, coffee cakes...pizza and many ethnic foods. Lived in many parts of the states and will try most anything. Love squashes and growing vegetables.Making homemade soups and sharing recipes with my family and friends and Cooking clubs I belong to.I love steak's with potatoes, all the trimmings.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Any and all holidays...Big family and Friends gathering to "break bread". Games, sports, swimming all outdoor activities while preparing the food for friends and family. The more the merrier. Have people working on holidays, stop by to eat and talk for a brief while. Make cooking gifts for people who are good friends, ie, mailman, ups, nail tech,Salon Stylist, church functions, assisted living care givers.Neighbors and church people.
My cooking triumphs
When I make something from our family that my mom and grandma made for the family and it smells and taste's just like mom's. You can smell your recipes and know if they are a hit or a bomb. You can tell - When it is successful, you really are thrilled. I love to eat as well.
My cooking tragedies
My sister & I tried to make beef stew and couldn't. We tried everything and we couldn't get it to brown. I was 18 and she was 14. We added soy sauce to try to make it brown, added sauce of all kinds. Even dog wouldn't eat it. It is a good and fun memory. I was married and my folks brought her to stay with me for the summer.I live is WI and my family in CA.Those mistakes make me the kind of cook I am today.

Creamy Potato Pork Chop Bake
Super dish-I used Tater Tots instead and it\wasn't to mushy. Very good rating and would give it out. I also added parsley.
