About this Cook
Being a stay at home mom and a wife has taken me from boxed mac and cheese to a pretty darned good homemade mac and cheese. Food and cooking has become a passion of mine. I love to cook for friends and family and enjoy hearing their reactions to my cooking. I still have alot to learn, but I'm getting better as time goes on. One of the things I love about cooking is there are endless possibilities and combinations, and sometimes I just surprise myself at what I can whoop up. Some disasters also. Lol.
My favorite things to cook
Mexican, stews, gravies, sauces, meat loaves, pork chops, steak, salads, millions of chicken recipes, low card(sometimes), sandwiches, burgers, finger foods, different takes on vegies, cooking with wine and with rouxs....I love sauces with almost anything.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother's cooking on thanksgiving and dishes from my moroccan heritage.
My cooking triumphs
I feel triumphant everytime I ace a recipe.
My cooking tragedies
Trying to add honey to a gumbo one time. Nasty! Baking is a challenge.

Cola Pot Roast II
Really flavorful! The only thing I changed was I put it in the slow cooker for 8 hours, added babybella mushrooms and onion, used whole bag of baby carrots, then at the 6 hour mark I added cut up potatoes. I also made a roux to thicken the juices to create the perfect beef gravy! My family loved this. I'll definately cook this one for company. Oh yah and a crispy loaf of french bread to dunk. :)

This recipe is a keeper! Tasted like a dish in an expensive italian restaurant. I added capers and garlic as other users suggested. YUM!
