Sweet Potato and Black Bean Chili
This recipe was 4 stars as written (omitting the jalapeño and decreasing chili powder). It definitely would need more liquid to be chili/soup like. What I did that made it delicious? Added a little leftover corn, then put it in a greased 13x9. I mixed up a batch of my regular CORNBREAD (buttermilk cornbread on this site), and used a little less sugar and a handful of shredded cheese. Spread the cornbread mix on top, and bake at. 375 for 20-25 min until golden. Add a dollop of sour cream and it is absolutely divine!

Best Brownies
These were a little too sweet for my liking (almost a little sickly sweet), and I think I'll try cutting the sugar down to 3/4 cup next time. I did not make the frosting, as I'm not a huge frosting fan. I substituted the butter with applesauce and they turned out well.. more cakelike than fudgey, but I'm not super picky on brownie consistency. Overall a good, quick recipe that prevents you from eating the boxed processed stuff!

Buttermilk Syrup
My husband loved this, but I gave it 4 stars because I had to make some changes. I decreased the sugar to 1 cup and it was still on the sweet side. Also, I pulled it off the stove after 5 minutes of boiling (not 7) and I'm glad I did. It was just the right consistency when cooled. Any longer on the stove and it would've been too thick. Overall, I will definitely be making it again.
