About this Cook
I am a 30 year old wife of a Marine and mom of three boys. About 2 years ago I left my corporate job to raise my kids and well...I needed to learn how to cook since we mostly ate out when my husband and I both worked. Since using the recipes on this site I have gotten nothing but praise from my family, and my husband ASKS me if he can clean the kitchen after we eat! So, a big THANK YOU to all you wonderful recipe posters out there who have made my life sooo much easier!
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook food with Fresh Asian flavors. But not necessarily asian food persay. Also, I also like cooking traditional Italian food because it is SOO hard to mess up and well...Im mostly italian! I also liko to cook Mexican. My family loves Mexican food and I love to make it for them, even though neither my husband or myself have even 1% mexican in our families!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family has no cooking traditions unless you count spiceless turkey in a bag and canned cranberry sauce (ridges in tact, LOL)! This is why I needed to come here to LEARN! My mother worked full time and the only thing I learned from her was how to boil water and add noodles. LOL <3
My cooking triumphs
So far the best thing I have made from this site is the ginger glazed mahi mahi. It is the exact type of quisine we like, my husband begs for it all the time now! It was my first time ever doing a reduction and it came out perfectly, so, I guess I have to have some talent in there somewhere!
My cooking tragedies
my rasberry sauce turned out brown and lumpy =( BUT, my husband ate it all up and loves it, Ive since fixed the problem, and now it just looks better! it tastes the same though! haha

Asian Orange Chicken
This recipe is too time consuming. I gave this a 4 because there is no need to marinate, coat, add corn starch to the sauce, etc. just reduce the amount of water you use and cook the chicken in the sauce in a large saucepan in med high heat for 15-20 min the sauce will reduce to the perfect glaze and it doesn't require all kinds of prep.

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction
Simply amazing. Better than restaurant quality. The only thing I did different than this recipe was cook the sauce longer than 5 minutes. I maybe cooked it for 10 - 15. It came out perfect. Love this.

Pork Chops with Raspberry Sauce
my husband loved this recipe. He begs for it all the time. The only thing different i will do next time is make the sauce in a separate pan. mine came out lumpy from the pork drippings.
