Artichoke and Shrimp Alfredo Pizza

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2010
I added mushrooms, but this would be great as is. Quick and delicious!

Warm Flourless Chocolate Cake with Caramel Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
Amazing, moist, rich cake! I didn't make the caramel sauce because I thought it would be a bit much. Also, I only baked it for 35 min, but my oven runs a bit hot so that might be why. This is great by itself but would probably also be good with a raspberry sauce.

Black Bottom Cupcakes II

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2010
I followed the recipe exactly. The cupcakes came out fine, but there seemed to be something missing in the flavor of the chocolate cake. The texture did improve slightly after leaving the cupcakes overnight, but perhaps there needs to be more cocoa (or chocolate) in the cake.

Pumpkin Buns

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2009
I made this using all-purpose flour instead of whole wheat. I also added some pumpkin pie spice. They were pretty good, but I think they could use some more flavor. Maybe some more pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon.

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
Oh my goodness. This was the best chocolate cake I've ever had. I followed the recipe exactly, except that I made cupcakes with it. They were so moist and gooey, even after I put some of them in the fridge. No need for frosting at all. I took the cupcakes to work, and everyone raved about them. I may try adapting the recipe so that I can make it from scratch and without the mix, but it's not at all necessary. This cake is awesome as it is!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
Great frosting! Not too sweet or too heavy. I used this on some lemon cupcakes and it turned out great. Very good consistency for either spreading or piping. I spread the leftover frosting on some graham crackers. Love it!

Pink Ladies

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
I made these the way the recipe directed. They were extremely sweet. I love sweets normally, but these were almost too much for me, even after cutting them into tiny squares. The chocolate layer is very rich, but the icing makes them overwhelming.

Lemon Bars I

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
I tried making these today to take to work tomorrow, but they didn't turn out too well. 20 min was too long to bake the crust, and it burned slightly on the edges. Then I tasted the filling before pouring it into the pan, and it was much too sweet. So I added another Tbsp of lemon juice. Then, after baking for only 20 min, the bars were overdone. I was hoping I could salvage some of them from the middle of the pan, but when I cut them, the crust crumbled and fell apart, and the lemon filling was too thick and sticky. The taste was OK, maybe still a bit sweet, and the bars are edible, but I'm going to have to eat them myself because they're in no condition to be served to anyone else. With some modifications, this recipe could be pretty good, but not so much as it is.

Bread Pudding III

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
I made this recipe with a few changes. I only used 4 eggs, and I substituted dried cranberries for raisins and added some white chocolate chips. It turned out really well. Will definitely make again.

Red Velvet Cake IV

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
I followed the directions of this recipe exactly, except I made cupcakes instead. They came out well, but the cake was a little too sweet for me. Nice moist and spongy texture, though.

Slow Cooker Bananas Foster

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2007
I followed this recipe exactly, except that I omitted the coconut since I was serving it to someone who doesn't like coconut. It turned out great, and I'm sure it would have been good with the coconut as well.

Spinach Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
I just made this recipe, and it came out very well. I'm going to be sharing this with someone who hates onion, so I omitted the onion and added a clove of garlic instead. It's a bit too oily for me, so I think next time I will reduce the butter. Overall, I think it should be a hit!

Baked Salmon II

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2007
This was my first time cooking salmon, and it was a big hit. I've made it a couple of times since and added dill to the marinade. The last time, I didn't have time to marinate the fish for an hour, so I rubbed some minced garlic on the salmon steaks, poured the marinade on top, and baked it as directed. Still turned out great, and my boyfriend said he liked it even better that way!

Maria's Broccoli Rabe

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2007
This was my first time both cooking and eating broccoli rabe. It was too bitter for me, but my boyfriend said he didn't mind the bitterness. Overall, not too bad, but maybe next time I'll try boiling it longer.

Iced Tea II

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2007
I halved this recipe except that I still used 3 tea bags. Also, I used green tea instead of black and combined lime and lemon juice so I could use up an extra lime I had. Turned out great!
