No Bake Cookies IV

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
This is THE BEST no bake cookie recipe out there! I have been making it for a couple years now. The marshmallows help bind it together and keep it soft, so they don't crumble like all the other versions. Go make it!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

I even halved the recipe, and added a splash of vanilla. Tastes so much better than a mix, and this way you know exactly what is inside, no preservatives and artificial junk. Next time I'll make half the flour wheat flour.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2008
I've tried at least 5 different brownies from this site (one of my weaknesses) and this one came up my favorite. Not quite fudgy, not quite cakey. I haven't tried the frosting recipe on it, I like to top it with a scoop of mint ice cream.

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2008
The best corn bread I've made! This is my go-to recipe for corn bread from now on. When I feel like going lower fat, I sub some low-fat sour cream for some of the oil, which makes it even more moist! Can't beat that!

Monkey Bread I

This is a 5 star recipe as long as you layer the sauce with the biscuits. Otherwise the inside will be dry. Very sweet and delicious!

Lemon Coconut Squares

Perfect the way it is, although I added a few drops of coconut extract to help enhance the coconut on top. Really good! I like how the filling stayed really moist and soft.

Can't Tell They're Low-fat Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2008
I used applesauce like others suggested, and this brownie was very bland, and actually really yucky. I have had better luck taking a recipe I like to use, and subbing fat free sour cream and/or buttermilk with applesauce for the oil, and it makes a much better tasting brownie.

Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars

All that pumpkin pie spice is pretty spicy. Next time I'd use my own mixture of cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger, not so much allspice.

Chicken Noodle Casserole

This was pretty good. I like how it has a cheesy sauce. I didn't have any savory, so I added a bay leaf, 1/4 tsp of thyme and 1/4 tsp of sage. Turned out yummy!

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2007
These were soooo good! And I even completely forgot to add the vinegar. I wonder how it would have changed for me? I also toned down the spice a bit by halfing the allspice & ginger, and added 1/4 tsp of nutmeg. So great, it's a new seasonal tradition for me! Maybe next time I'll add the vinegar to see how it changes.

Soft Garlic Breadsticks

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2007
They were just ok. I was looking for breadsticks a little more fluffy and soft like Olive Garden. These were soft, but didn't rise much. Maybe they could use a little more yeast? But 3 tsp. of garlic is definately garlicy, if that's what you're going for.

So good! Made it exactly as recipe states and I wouldn't change a thing. The pecans in the crust gives it a yummy crunch. Glad I decided not to omit them!
