About this Cook
I am a 20 something SAHM, with two young boys.I have always enjoyed cooking for my family but now I love cooking for me! At the moment, I am into baking. I was always scared to even try to bake. But now I am realizing that not only is it fun but I am pretty good at it :)
My favorite things to cook
Whenever anyone is sick, I bring them a bowl of my home-made chicken noodle soup and ,I swear, they feel better. I love cooking comfort food such as: meatloaf, mac and cheese, pot roast, and anything that fills "the belly and warms the soul", as my grandma would say :) I am starting to bake pretty good cookies, cakes and I am working on pies...
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother, Papa, sister and I make tamales every year. We meet at my moms house early and stay late. Our family and friends always look forward to Tamale Time! I love making tamales because we are keeping my Papa's Mexican heritage alive. It is something he did with his mother and the tradition goes back many generations. I will definitely pass along the tradition to my children.
My cooking triumphs
For Christmas I had my parents over for a full course meal. My father eat so much and my mother was impressed. I felt really happy and confident after that night. Also I have been baking treats for my husband and his co-workers. They all have said they will pay me for my cookies. And my Papa says he can't drink his coffee without my coffee cake!
My cooking tragedies
Oh, where to begin! My poor husband...the 1st year of our marriage I burnt everything.I couldn't even bake those frozen cookies without burning them. And if it wasn't burnt it was bland, like something was missing.

Spicy Sweet Potato and Coconut Soup
My husband, father and sons hated this! In fact, the next night when my son didnt want to eat his dinner, my husband threatened to make him eat the "orange" son ate his dinner. But I thought it was okay. wont make it again. something was off and I followed the recipe exactly. The cilantro is the only thing that made this soup edible.

Yummy Yellow Taters
these were really good. I didnt add food coloring and I used creme instead of milk. My husband and two young sons ate it all up.
