Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2012
So I had some friends over for dinner last night and made these. In case I haven't rated them I must. They are a hit every time. Incredible. Try them. I add about 1.5-2 times the flavorings/seasonings because I like big flavor. I also make one little change in assembly. To avoid big globs of sweet potato I like to smear the sweet potato over the whole tortilla, then the beans in a strip. The beans are right in the middle and the potato looks like pinwheels. Even my guests who don't like sweet potatoes ate an uncomfortable amount of these delectable treats. These are a must try.

Fried Frog Legs with Creamy Onion-Mushroom Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2011
This was the best seasoning for frog legs. And the real trick is soaking them in the milk, it takes away the weird fishy flavor. I cantt eat fried stuff so I just tossed them with the spices, then sauteed them in bacon grease. Best frogs legs we've ever had. I bet they would be great fried too though. The gravy however, I would rate at about a 3. Its nothing to write home about and takes the attention away from the frog. I won't bother with that in the future.

Bob's Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
This is the best ever dip for broccoli. I use it both as a dressing and as a veggie dip. I did double the yeast just because I could eat that stuff with a spoon. This is a fantastic dressing. One of my favorites yet. Thanks Paula.

Pierogi III

Reviewed: May 28, 2009
I hate pierogi. I don't know what compelled me to make this recipe. I figured I would try it, maybe it would be good for pierogi. Turns out it was good in general! I will now call these 'fun little pockets of happy goodness'.I did end up with extra dough. I don't mind though, I'm going to play with stuffing it with all kinds of food, including fruits and meats, try pan frying it after boiling it. This has huge potential.

Outrageous Creamy Garlic Salad Dressing

Reviewed: May 20, 2009
This was strange when I tried a sample plain, but it is awesome on salad. I mixed it with basic salad stuff, plus I threw in some steamed okra. The okra went really well with it. I haven't tried it as a dip yet, but I bet it'll be great like that too.

Honey Mustard Dressing I

This is strange but okay. I will eat it and enjoy it, but I don't think I will trip over myself to make it again.

Roasted Potato Salad with Balsamic-Bacon Vinaigrette

I love potatoes and everything else in this recipe. I ate till it hurt, good stuff. I would only ever serve this stuff fresh and warm, but will definitely serve again. Thanks.

Smooth Poblano Salsa

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2009
I go to Laredo, TX for work and eat at a little taco stand outside of a truck stop there. They make a salsa of butter, peppers and cilantro. I love the stuff but wanted a healthier option. This is it! WOW! I omitted the lettuce, doubled the peppers (for my tastes) and still added about 1 C melted butter. This stuff is knock your socks off good.

Classic Spanish Sangria

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2009
The rum is what did it. I went a little lighter on it just to be safe. I will use it all next time. My wine was sour, but everybody still raved. This recipe could save a bottle of vinegar.

Maui Onion Dressing

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
This dressing was a big hit in my household. I definitely will make this again. I've been looking for a good sweet dressing to always have on hand. This is it. Despite giving it a good review I did give it a four instead of a 5 just because it was sooo sweet. I will probably use just a 1/2 C of sugar next time.

Cajun Cabbage with Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
We enjoyed this recipe. I did make some alterations based on what I had; I used diced brats instead of beef (thats what I was trying to use up) and cayenne instead of chili. My husband and I destroyed this soup. I enjoyed all the flavors. Thanks.

Grilled Sausages with Prunes and Bacon

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
This sounded so strange I had to try it. I loved the way the sweet prunes and salty bacon complimented eachother. Next time I will chop the prunes up more fine so they don't come out in big clumps. I can't eat buns though (no bread stuff) so I just had it with a side of cabbage. Fantastic dinner. It was a bit dry though, but still I am putting this in my recipe inbox.

Green Goddess Dressing III

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
I was excited by this recipe but was terribly disappointed. Parsley being a very bland but the primary flavor made the only dominant flavor fish. I used half the anchovies, but still, that is all I tasted. My husband and I opted to throw the whole batch away. Sorry.

Spinach Greens

MMM, this southern flavor seems so simple, but I've had an awful time getting it right. This is it! Try it with the beet greens, that was the best!

Dry Ranch Style Seasoning for Dip or Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
I am trying to eat healthier but I love the ranch in the stores so that is sort of what I am going for. This was missing a flavor I have not yet pin-pointed, maybe just the preservatives; sadly however, it just didn't do it for me.

Granny's Corn Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because I could not manage this batter enough to roll it out. It was not thin enough for me and it kept wanting to fall apart. Once frustrated, I just watered it down and dropped it by runny quarter cups into my greased fry pan and twirled the pan to get it even. Turned out awesome, way more manageable. I used this for tamales. Also, I added a can of creamed corn to half of it and made corn pancakes. It was great. I'll be keeping this recipe.

Chipotle Mayo Relish

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
I had the best fish tacos almost 10 years ago and have never had a really good one since. I knew it was in the sauce, but I didn't have any idea what was in the it. This is the sauce. There is nothing better to go with fish tacos. I'm so happy to have the recipe now.

Super Spicy Pea Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
I try to eat healthy & yummy, but on a budget its tough. Great just like this, but then I halved the mayo and cheese, threw in a can of tuna and put it on whole wheat. WOW! This is my new tuna salad. And I can't wait to make more variations on it!

Chicken and Sausage with Bowties

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
It's true, you can't do anything bad with this. I used other spices (oregano, sage, thyme) because they were what I had and it turned out great. I thickened the sauce and made a pizza, I put spinach on the mess with the noodles and I made an omelet. This is easy, delicious and versatile!
