I'm a stay at home mom of boy/girl twins (born 4-5-06). I like to cook for fun but now I also have to cook for my family.
My favorite things to cook
I have been cooking for over 10 years, but in the last couple years I have been doing far more advanced cooking and trying to make more healthful meals. I get better all the time! I have always been best at soups. I never need a recipe for soup!
My favorite family cooking traditions
"sliders"! My grandma taught me how to make simple small noodle-like dumplings. She was Polish. She always made them way better than me, but I try and I keep the recipe alive!
My cooking triumphs
Soup! I can make any soup, from scratch, off the top of my head. I LOVE soup and I am really good at it!
My cooking tragedies
Usually, I'll screw up baking. I never usually destroy dinner, but I have baked a few things that weren't edible after I was through with it. Hehe

Paula's Bread Sticks
Very good recipe! I twisted mine, made about 12 instead of 18, and I used egg wash after 12 minutes of baking (needed to bake for 18 minutes, because I made them bigger than the original recipe). They are chewy and WONDERFUL. They have a soft pretzel type texture. Wonderful with your favorite pasta! This recipe will get heavy rotation!!!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread
Perfect and simple! I have powdered buttermilk (worthwhile to keep in the fridge, just in case), so I had everything I needed on hand! It's not low fat, but can be made low fat, it is SOOOO good! (It took 35 minutes in a round 8 inch cake pan, that is what I had on hand.)

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust
This is awesome!!!!!! I like to make four personal pizzas out of it. You can shape into four equal parts, top, then bake at 450 for 12-15 minutes. You can even just bake the crust bare for 8 minutes, then save the crust (like a premade crust, that you would buy) and just put some toppings on and pop in the oven for 5-8 minutes. Even make it in the microwave, the crust is already cooked! Great and fast, healthier for kids too! I used white wheat flour!
