To say I'm a cooking novice is an understatement. My dear husband eats whatever I put in front of him without complaint, but I judge how good it is by the quickness the leftovers leave the fridge.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook Italian foods, mostly because I love to eat Italian food. I've recently learned that I can bake. My freezer is full of cookies and breads. And chocolate cake never lasts long!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have a standing tradition of Easter Dinner with our closest friends.
My cooking triumphs
I have a homemade pasta sauce recipe that I have mastered. It makes quick dinners a snap since it freezes so wonderfully.
My cooking tragedies
Um, too many to count. But I'm getting better. I tried to make a sit-down dinner for several friends and most courses were cold, some burnt and one actually undercooked (oops). At least dessert was okay (store bought ice cream). My friends still mention that meal on occasion.

Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Muffins
I've made this recipe several times now. First the consistency of the batter is more like cookie dough than muffin batter. Next, I usually get 24 muffins as opposed to 12. This decreases the cooking time to 14~15 minutes. While they aren't as big as the ones in the picture, they still peak over the tops of the muffin cups. Next, I've found that adding the egg to the butter/cream cheese mixture without the cream works best for overall homologous mixture. Also, 1/3 cup of chocolate chips..ppphhht! I add a full cup. I love these, they keep well for an entire week in a loose-fit container.

Honey Wheat Sandwich Rolls
These are fantastic! My toddler loves them. I froze the extra and I pull out what I need the day before and put in the fridge. I will make these again.

Alfredo Sauce
Good sauce and easy to make, but it seems to be missing something. Salt and pepper, but something else. I added ground nutmeg, but maybe garlic salt? I'll make again (it's to quick, perfect for a last minute dinner), but I'm going to tweak it some more.
