Chocolate covered cherries... Or not.

Well after the grocery store I was feeling pretty confident and decided to try the recipe for chocolate covered cherries.I used a mixture of powdered sugar, powdered cocoa, ground chocolate, butter and cornsyrup for the cherry coating.The recipe had called this mixture dough even though it seemed like a sticky, gooey, tasty mess. And melted chocolate for the coating.... I managed to make 6 of these. The dough was almost impossible to work with and the melted chocolate didn't want to stick. I have decided to try to look a couple different recipes up and try to figure out what went wrong. Suggestions welcome!
Ok so I looked a couple different places on the web and found a few recipes. I took what I thought were the best parts of each. I have what resembles chocolate covered cherries, haven't tasted them yet, waiting on them to set...
