Arkansas Green Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2013
I love this recipe and have cooked it twice now but there were several at Thanksgiving who didn't care for the soy sauce in them. Their loss, it just meant lots of leftovers for me.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2013
This is seriously the best zucchini bread recipe that I've ever used. Normally I add some chocolate chips to mine just to add another touch of flavor but I was out this time. I didn't miss them one bit in this bread. I changed nothing and was so excited that I was able to use fresh zucchini straight from our garden. I'll be making this recipe many more times over the course the summer.

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2012
I had a big chili dinner for family and friends this past weekend. I just knew cornbread was a must and since I have never made it from scratch before the hunt was on for the perfect recipe. This one fit the bill and instead of a baking dish, I used a preheated and butter cast iron skillet. I got lots of compliments and will be using this recipe in the future for all of my cornbread needs.

Quick Chili I

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
I adored this recipe and received lots of rave reviews for it. I omitted the water and in stead used a large container of vegetable juice instead. I also used a 40 oz. can of kidney beans and two 15 oz. cans of the pinto beans. I also omitted the hot sauce as I am not a fan of overly spicy things. Also, I browned the meat along with the onion and garlic and then added everything to my crockpot and cooked it on high for about three hours. I can't wait to make this chili again, its now my go to chili recipe.

Baked Ziti IV

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2011
Absolutely loved this dish. I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of the rosemary. We aren't big on rosemary. My Mom who is very pick ate two helpings and sang my praises on Facebook about it.

Italian Love Cake

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
I was really hoping that since this cake has gotten some great reviews that we would love it, however, my family, who are big into sweets mind you, wouldn't eat it. I personally did not think the ricotta cheese filling was sweet enough and I couldn't get past it's texture. Oh well...win some you lose some.

Ham Breakfast Braid

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
Made this dish for breakfast this morning and we really enjoyed it. Instead of the ham since my husband doesn't care for it, I fried up a half pound of bacon and added the crumbled bacon to the egg mixture. Next time I think I will adds some sauteed onion and green peppers for an extra kick. I think my only complaint was that it was somewhat dry because of the crescent rolls.

Lemon Coolers

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
These cookies were so simple and easy to make and they turned out awesome. My only suggestions are that two cups of sugar is way to much, I didn't even use up one cup so don't waste the second cup. Also, I stuck my dough in the freezer for a few minutes prior to dropping and rolling and they were so much easier to handle.

Chili Dog Casserole I

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
I liked this dish, not enough to give it five stars my husband on the other hand ate just about the entire casserole all on his own, I had one scoop. I think it's safe to say he would give it five stars.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 27, 2009
I thought this was a very bland banana bread. I should have followed the suggestions of some of the earlier reviews by adding some cinnamon and vanilla. Not sure if I will try this one again.

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
This was really good. My family really enjoyed it and everyone was asking for the recipe. I omitted the mayo as I didn't have any. I thought it was a little too sweet but everyone disagreed and thought it was perfect as is.

Trail Mix Cookies

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
These were delicious, I omitted the cranberries and I also used whole wheat flour instead of regular flour. I made them for my husband to take on a weekend kayaking trip.

Chicken Fajita Melts

Reviewed: May 2, 2009
My family really enjoyed this, however I think I prefer my fajitas using tortilla still. Very easy to make, and yes, it doesn't make a mess.

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
This was incredible. I accidently made the jello according to the box so I added more water than I should have...it still turned out really good and I can't wait to make it again. My Husband about killed the 9x13 pan all by himself.

Mexican Cornbread Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
Made this over the weekend for my hubby and he absolutely loved it. I left out the bacon bits and also forgot to add the green chiles to the cornbread mix so I added them as a layer.

Amy's Cilantro Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
I loved this sauce, had to use salsa verde instead of the tomatillo salsa because we couldn't find it at our grocery store but it was really good either way. Has a bit of a kick to it, but obviously wasn't too bad because I kept digging in for more. Drizzled this over pork tacos as well as used to dip our tortilla chips.

Macaroni and Cheese with Caramelized Onions and Bacon

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
Didn't really care for the onions and bacon portion of this dish. It was a really good macaroni and cheese recipe without the extras on top. Definitely going to keep it and work on it. Thanks for the submission!!

Chicken Tortilla Soup V

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2008
Husband and I both enjoyed this recipe. However he preferred it without all of the extra toppings. He said that the tortilla chips tasted like crackers when they were in the soup.
