About this Cook
I am married and a mother to 3 boys who don't mind trying mom's new recipes.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook my families favorite meals and find new ones. Dinner is SO important to me. It's the only time we all gather in the same area and connect.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother was a total hamburger helper mom. I learned very little from her, but my grandmother loved to cook for her family as well. She made a meal every Sunday regardless if she knew we were coming or not. I wish I paid more attention because I miss some of her basic recipes that nobody makes any more.
My cooking triumphs
Probably my carrot cake. It's the one recipe I refuse to share. My husband loves it and I don't want anyone else to be able to make it like I do. :)
My cooking tragedies
Everyday meals should be simple, delicious, and wholesome. However, love pours from a meal that you prepare out of love no matter how long it takes.

Laura's Unbelievable Chicken and Pasta
This dish gets 5 stars for taste and volume. My family of 5 ate this for dinner and again for lunch the next day. The flavors are simple, so if you are looking for a WOW flavor, this isn't your recipe. For variety I will try adding a little lemon juice and maybe chopped onion and julienne carrots.

Fried Corn with Smoked Sausage
Simple, quick recipe. My local store was out of red peppers, so we just used 2 green instead. I also subbed turkey smoked sausage. I think we will add more veggies next time and serve with cornbread.

Best Tuna Casserole
Loved! Loved! Loved! This one is a keeper. With a hubby and 3 boys, it's hard to please everyone. Trust me, nobody was excited about this dish until they tasted it. I followed advise from others and added a little milk and 1/4 cup sour cream. It turned out creamy and moist. I also crushed french fried onions along with the chips for the topping.
