Slow Cooker Beef Stew III

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
Great recipe, I did make a few modifications of my own...I did decrease the water, as I thought it would come out too "soupy", Mixed the water and the golden mushroom soup to blend together well, I judged on the amt. of water I used, not really a specific amt. and omitted the dry soup mix as I thought it would be too oniony and/or salty, the 1 onion worked fine, chopped up small. I also added some garlic powder and pepper to my taste. I did not cook overnight, not really necessary unless you want to...cooked on high 4 hours, made a roux to thicken it as I still thought it was too runny, and finished on low 4 more hours. I also did not add the potatoes until last 2 hrs of cooking. Came out great nice and thick, I def. suggest something to thicken this like a roux. I served with flaky buttermilk biscuits...great hearty meal, will definately make again! P.S. I used the leftovers to make a pot pie, it was AWESOME! Thanks for a great recipe :)

Grandma Gudgel's Black Bottom Cupcakes

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
These are very good, the only thing I would change is to use milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet chips, but only b/c I prefer milk choc. over semi-sweet, but other than that I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out great. I think next time I will try peanut butter chips, as I think this will be a nice variation. Thank you for the great recipe.

Oven Fried Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
Made this last night for dinner and it was excellent! I followed the recipe with the exceptions of, I added just a bit more garlic(garlic lover) and I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts which I pounded out with a meat tenderizer to flatten and so the garlic-butter mixture would soak in the chicken and I also used italian flavored bread crumbs as I didn't have any plain. The smell in my kitchen as these were cooking was fabulous and they came out very well except the breading on them was a bit mushy, so about the last 10 min. of cooking, I put them under the broiler to make the tops of chicken crunchy, I would definately reccomend this method, they came out perfectly and were simply delish!! Will definately make again...thanks for this great recipe. :)

Kentucky Butter Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2007
Made this the other night to take to a friends house for dinner, I really liked it, although it is a very rich cake. I followed the recipe exactly, took a little longer than it said. Was wondering if anyone else made this and used a frosting? Since it is so rich I just sprinkled lightly with powdered sugar to make it look nice. My husband and friends also chose to put a glob of whipped cream on. Will probably make again but maybe next time I will sprinkle some ground cinnamon in the batter, I think the cinnamon flavor would be a nice variation to spice it up a bit, although it is very good following the recipe as listed. Will definately add to my collection.

THIS WAS SIMPLY AWESOME!! I followed the recipe almost exactly except I used frozen organic blueberries, they worked out very well. I also baked in a deep dish pie plate and although it took a little longer it turned out perfect. I took this to a friends house for dinner and it was a big hit! Definately a keeper to add to my collection. Thanks for submitting this recipe :)
