Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

I wish I could give this more than five stars. I made this yesterday for Thanksgiving, and it was a huge hit! Good thing I made two pies.

Crab Delights

The reason I gave it 4 stars was because I am not a fan of processed cheese. I used the sharp chedder cheese spread from rondele, which may be the problem. I felt like it needed more seasoning, so I added some Worcestershire as well, which I got as a recommendation on a similar dish. All in all, not too bad.....they were a hit!

Chocolate Caramel Nut Pie

This recipe was very good, but not for those who don't like rich desserts. I made the recipe exactly as written except I cheated in two ways: I used a premade graham cracker crust and instead of using a double boiler, I used the microwave - - less dishes to wash. I will be making this again, but instead might use a shortbread crust instead of graham cracker. Also, the chocolate part of the recipe covered over 1/2 of the pie, so I didn't have enough room to add all of the cream cheese part. Next time, I won't use all of the chocolate batter or else get a deeper pie pan. I also liked the idea of using a springform pan whch might be better. Thanks for such a delicious recipe!

Tiramisu Layer Cake

I made this for my boyfriend's family over Christmas, and it got rave reviews. Instead of using 3 pans (I only had 2), I made one espresso cake and one plain white cake. I cut those in two to have 4 layers. In addition to the recipe for the filling in between, I took the advice of some reviewers and added fresh whipped cream, which I strongly suggest. As for the icing, I used Starbucks coffee cream liqueur and it was absolutely wonderful. I had some icing left over and have been using it in my coffee. Thanks for the recipe!

Eclair Cake

It is really funny that I try to make all of these intricate fancy desserts, and this is my sisters favorite by far. She always requests this at all the familiy picnics and cookouts. Instead of Cool Whip, I use real whipped cream and it works out pretty well.

David's Yellow Cake

This cake tasted delicious but fell to pieces and was very crumbly. I didn't use cake flour, so that may have something to do with it. Taste = 5 stars, but consistency was only 4 stars.

Pork Chops Stuffed with Smoked Gouda and Bacon

I made this recipe last night and it turned out excellent. Instead of bacon, I used some ham and I added onions as well. Everyone loved it!
