Playgroup Granola Bars

Loved these! I used dried cranberries and almonds. They disappeared quickly. Time to make some more.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: May 14, 2012
Great tasting beef crock-pot recipe! I was looking for make-ahead-and-freeze recipes. This one worked out great! I just prepared it the way the recipe reads and then froze the ingredients in a ziplock bag until I was ready to take it out and pop it in the crock-pot on low for 6-8 hours.

Candy Coated Pecans

Delicious and ever-popular with everyone! Very, very easy to make and taste as good (if not better) than those sold at some mall kiosks.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
Delicious! I substituted 1 c. of wholewheat and, since I only had three bananas, I added about 3/4 cup of applesauce. Also, I added 1 tsp. of cinnammon, a dash of ground nutmeg, and some chopped pecans. Quick & easy.

Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2007
Tasted good, but I didn't like the way the bread jutted out of the top of the casserole. I would suggest laying the bread at the bottom of the 9 x 13 dish and then pouring the eggs over the top. Also, I substituted turkey bacon for sausage (personal taste) and this was a good substitution. I used a full package of bacon, but I would recommend only using half a package instead.

Strawberry Oatmeal Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2007
Very easy to make, but a little too sweet for my taste. I like using oatmeal bars for quick on-the-go breakfast bars, and these were a little too messy and "dessert-like". Also, I substituted almond extract for the vanilla extract, and it was too strong.

Unique and delicious cake! I made a punch bowl cake with chocolate cake (box mix), chocolate pudding and whipped cream. It was delicious and super easy.

Brazilian Lemonade

Fantastic! Great alternative for parties. I made it for a bridal shower and it was a refreshing "change" from the usual gingerale-sherbert punch that is normally served at bridal showers. People loved it!

Spinach and Mushroom Pinwheels

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2007
I made these pinwheels for a bridal shower and they were a hit! I used refrigerated pastry dough instead of making my own, just to save time, and it tasted great. Also, I added a few extra things like red bell peppers and slices of ham. I made the rolls about 2 weeks before the party, froze them, and then just thawed them, sliced, baked and served. So easy!
