Avocado Quick Bread

Maybe I have an extra tastebud -- or am missing one -- but I did not care for this. So strange, since other reviewers seemed to love it. It had a weird, bitter aftertaste. Luckily my husband liked it -- so it must just be me -- otherwise I would have tossed it.

Easy Pork Chop Casserole

This is a tasty, easy way to make pork chops. I didn't brown the chops first -- too lazy! And I think they turned out just fine. Also, only used half a soup-can of water, and there was plenty of gravy after cooking.

Chocolate Frosting I

This frosting is just fine, especially if you need something quick, but it's nothing special. As other reviewers, I used butter and I used less sugar and a tad more cocoa. I found the consistency a little gooey and bland in flavor, so I added about a tablespoon of cream cheese I happened to have on hand, and I think that helped both the taste and consistency. One note: I tried and tried but could not get the butter/cocoa mixture to combine with the milk. However, once I started adding the sugar, everything incorporated just fine. Although gooey at first, this frosting does firm up a bit on the cake after awhile.

Peach Pie the Old Fashioned Two Crust Way

After reading many of the reviews posted here, I was concerned about a runny pie. As a result, I added a touch of corn starch along with the flour. I also used half white/half brown sugar as many here suggested. My pie turned out just fine. This is the first peach pie I've made, and I'm guessing with peach pie, the kind of peach you use and the degree of ripeness determines the result, both in terms of sweetness and liquid. My peaches were a little under-ripe. One more note: I didn't bother removing the peach skin, and it didn't seem to matter.

Sherry Wine Sauce Chicken

This is a good, quick recipe. Sauce has a very nice flavor. However, 4 cans of soup seems like a lot! I used three (two cream of chicken, one cream of mushroom) and could hardly fit it all into the pan. Next time I might try two cans and adjust the rest of the ingredients. Also used sherry, rather than cream sherry, and it turned out fine.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Like a lot of other posters, this is the first time I've made cake frosting from scratch, and I was very happy with this recipe. The only thing I would say is next time I make it, I'm going to try using less vanilla. I thought the vanilla taste was a bit strong. FYI, this frosting stays soft and creamy unless you refrigerate it.

Different Chicken Divan

Excellent for what it is -- a quick, soup-based casserole. A little on the spicy side, and I found it salty. Other than that, will definitely be making this again!

Trim the Tree Butter Cookies

Maybe I did something wrong, but I found this recipe extremely difficult to work with. The dough was like trying to roll out a stick of butter -- even though I refrigerated it for several hours. I had to add tons of flour just to roll it, and then it didn't hold the cookie-cutter shapes well. However, having said all of this, the finished product was pretty good. Frosting/icing is a must because the cookie itself is bland.

Easy Deviled Chicken

A good little mid-week recipe. However, I found the cooking time to be way long! Chicken was definitely dry from overcooking. I'll be cutting at least 15 minutes off next time I make this.

Chicken In Sour Cream

Delicious! I did not find this too salty as others have. However, I did not add salt as called for. I also did not brown the chicken before baking, since I skinned the thighs. If you like onion dip, you'll love this recipe!

Baked Chicken with Peaches

This was really good! Like having peach pie for your main course! A really different and unusual chicken recipe. I used half of the brown sugar called for and I think it was more than enough. And I didn't peel the peaches -- not necessary. I think you really need to make this with fresh peaches. Canned just wouldn't be the same.

Chicken Provolone

This recipe is good -- nothing horribly special -- but good, and I would make it again. However, unless I did something wrong, I needed way less than the amount of stuffing mix called for. A 6-ounce bag was more than enough. And, maybe chicken breasts in California are extra large, but 30 minutes in the oven wasn't nearly long enough. I baked the casserole for 45, and the chicken was still a touch underdone.
