I love food. I spend a lot of my free time creating delicious dishes for my friends and family to enjoy. My favorite part about food is the preparation rather than eating my own foods because I love a good challenge. I generally use my sense of smell over tasting, and I am very good at just smelling something and figuring out what was used, what it needs, or what it didn't need before tasting.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything that will that will fill my home with a warm hearty smell.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family has a lot of old secret recipes that are passed down from mother to daughter, or sometimes grandmother to granddaughter. I loved as a kid getting to learn recipes that were never fully written down, but simply passed down through word of mouth.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumphs are seeing my loved ones smile with joy.
My biggest challenge triumph was creating an amazing prime rib recipe that is currently used in two very popluar resturants.
My cooking tragedies
When I was 17 I was trying to cook a delicous meal for then boyfrined now husband, and I had a terrible cold. Generally I can smell my way through cooking, but my nose was so stuffed that I could not smell a thing!! So, I attempted to cook simply by my taste. I was attempting to make a simple dinner that I make often of pork chops, mashed potatoes, fried green beans and macaroni and cheese. Well the pork chops came out fine, but the potatoes and everything else were a disaster. Come to find out I couldn't taste very well either, and I over salted it to the point that my boyfriend had to drink 4 glasses of water before he felt as if he was hydrated again. So instead of eating my cooking he decided to take me out to a nice little cafe instead. Lol
Moral to my story don't attempt to cook with a cold and if you do use a recipe.
