I used slightly less flour and butter then the recipe called for. I hoped to make it fluffier but it still ended up being pretty dense (but still delicious). I also made the strawberry puree from scratch just using strawberries and sugar. For frosting I used a whip cream with 1/2 cup of strawberry puree. For in between the layers I placed thinly sliced strawberries on top of a thin layer of icing. I covered those with splashes of the strawberry puree then added more frosting. I soaked half strawberries for the top.
