Smothered Green Beans II

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
I have made this dish so many times I could now do it with my eyes closed. My family and freinds love it. In an attempt to save money I use canned green beans (drained) and just let everything simmer until most of the liquid is evaporated. It is just as good as using fresh green beans and a heck of a lot easier.

Rosemary Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
I really enjoyed this. I tryed it on pork first and loved the taste and how ternder the chops were but when I tried it with boneless skinless chicken breast I fell in love. I don't think I will ever use this recipe with chops again but I will use it with chicken over and over again!

Grilled Onion Potatoes

They were good but weren't as flavorful as my moms gilled potatoes and onions. I am going to use this recipes as a base and build on it.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2009
This stuffing is fantastic! Depending on my mood I sometimes leave the dried cranberry's out of the mix because they tend to make the stuffing too sweet, but the sausage and the apples together... AMAZING!!

It is very good but I don't think I will make again... the whiskey smell and taste was a bit overpowering.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2009
AWESOME! I love this pie... I find every excuse I can think of to bake this pie. I have made it 4 or 5 times now and I eat most of it myself. For the pie "filling"... be sure that you don't cook it on to high of a heat or else it will turn in to a VERY thick syrup and it clings to the crust a bit more causing it to burn while baking. I LOVE THIS PIE... I CAN'T GET ENOUGH!!

I really enjoy the taste of this crust but it isn't the easiest to roll out. I will continue to make this for many years to come.

Easy Barbecued Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
FANTASTIC!! I didn't have a full green pepper so I used 1/4 green pepper, 1/4 red pepper, and 1/4 yellow pepper. I also only had a red onion. I used the 2T of chili pepper as called for but I was worried that it woule be too spicy for my liking but it wasn't at all. I was AWESOME!! I can't wait to make it again!! Oh yeah and my husband loved it too!

Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
Great!! If you are broke this is the recipe for you! It is the day before pay day and all I had in my cabinet was spaghetti noodles, tuna fish, and cream of mushroom soup. It did come out a bit dry but I thought it tasted great and so did my husband. I didn't have any cheese or french fried onions but it was great all the same!!

I loved this so so so much!! My husband and I made this dish for company. I used galic salt and lemon pepper with the italian seasoning. I also cooked up some chicken and sauted mushrooms and mixed it right into the sausce...it was amazing. I served it with a garlic baguette and steamed broccoli. Will make again and again and again!!

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2007
So good!! I wish I had leftovers!! I made two pans last night for a dinner party (7 people) and by the end there was absolutley no meatloaf left!! I took the advice of Mrs. Rempel her self and used 3/4 chedder cheese and 1/4 mozzarella and I also used Cheez-its insted of butter crackers. I sifted the onion soup mix and added only the flakes and a few pinches of the powder. I made the glaze recommend by KINZ: 3T ketchup, 1T honey and 1/2t worchestershire. I poured it over the meat before backing and it made one amazing meatloaf!!

Skillet Corn Bread

It tasted good (after I added sugar) but it just wasn't the skillet cornbread that I grew up eating. It was way to thin. Won't be using this recipe again.

Slow-Cooked Chili

Very good! I am not big on spicy foods but even I thought that this chili was lacking a kick! I just added a bit more chili powder and my husband added some tobasco sauce and we gobbled it right up! Zero leftovers!

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
AMAZING!! I made only a few changes, the biggest being that I used pumpkin pie filling insted of just canned pumpkin. With the cream cheese mixture I didn't beat it until it was smooth for fear that it would be to runny, there were still small lumps of cream cheese left when I was done mixing. I also add a few dashes of nutmeg to both the batter and the topping... gave it amazing flavor! I baked them just over 20 mins and they came out extreamly moist! I can't wait until my husband comes home and gets to try these... he is going to love them!

Claire's Yummy Crepes

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2007
Simple and yummy!! I added about 1/2 teaspoon vinilla and filled them with a thin layer of strawberry jam. I made them a litter thicker because I like to eat my crepes with my hands and you just can't to that when they are really thin. :-D
