Chewy Oatmeal Cookies I

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2010
These came out thick, hearty, and delicious. Not so much chewy as hearty, like a delicious healthy snack. We used cranberries rather than raisins (for more of a tart-sweet contrast), skipped the walnuts (allergies), and added 1/2 tsp cinnamon, which brought out the chocolate flavor more. Ghirardelli semi-sweet chips (as they melt the best, as per Cook's Illustrated, and experience!), and baked them on parchment paper on a pan (instead of buttering the pan). They were thick and delicious! A great recipe!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
The best brownies ever! They were slightly crispy on the outside (just the top), and moist and chewy on the inside. We used Ghirardelli chocolate and instead of making the frosting, we sifted powdered sugar on top. Now that I have this recipe, I will never use a box again!!!

Heavenly White Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
When we made this cake, it was flat, heavy, dry, with an okay flavor. We followed the recipe to a 't,' though, we added 1/2 cup extra milk, as suggested by other reviewers. Hmmm. Don't know what happened. But, I would never make this again.

Million Dollar Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
One word: MARVELOUS! I added 2 tsp. cinnamon to one pan, and made Mexican Chocolate fudge, which everyone loved as much as the plain fudge. Just plain delicious!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2008
Chewy and crisp, this oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe is fabulous! I decreased the salt to 1/2 tsp. and I used butter instead of shortening (what was on hand), and they were fabulous!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2008
Absolutely fabulous! I added 2 tsp. cinnamon and 1 tsp. vanilla, and this recipe stole the show for breakfast! The pancakes were light, fluffy, and -- the way my family likes them-- crispy around the edges (but they don't have to be crispy, if you want them soft). What a winner of a recipe!

Garlic Broccoli

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
I LOVED this recipe -- even better than chocolate cake, and I love chocolate cake! I put all the ingredients, sans the broccoli in a food processor until it was like a vinaigrette. Like other reviewers, I used Balsamic vinegar instead of red wine (since it has a bit of sweetness), and I also added 1 tsp. of Honey since I like things sweet. I increased the garlic by 2 cloves. Then, as per other readers, I lightly steamed the broccoli -- for 4 minutes -- and poured the mixture over the broccoli. I added some cubed, (boiled) tofu and put that in the fridge to marinate for 3 hours. I served it over brown rice. This dish is fan-freakin-tastic!
