Soft and Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
These cookies actually came out PERFECT. I can not give it 5 stars because of the modifications I made BUT seriously, I was even suprised how great these turned out. Our family does not use cane sugar so I substituted about 1 cup of palm sugar(jarred, sold in asian food markets) and about 1/2 cup of honey. These came out crispy on the edges and super soft in the middle. Also I cooked these only 16 minutes and they were perfect. If you are looking to get away from cane sugar, palm sugar is an excellent alternative, it also comes in granulated packs!! ENJOY!

Whipped Cream Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2010
If any doubts, TRY this recipe. This was super fast and easy. I doubled the recipe and used 1/2 whole wheat flour and 1/2 unbleached organice flour. Ran it through my Kitchenaid for just a couple minutes. My dough was very clumped together so I just added a little more whipping cream. Instead of rolling and cutting the dough, I just pulled pieces of and flattened with my hands. I baked them for about 8-10 minutes on my pizza stone and AMAZING!!! From start to finish couldn't have been more than 20-22 minutes and they were yummy yummy. I will make these often.

Fasoliyyeh Bi Z-Zayt (Syrian Green Beans with Olive Oil)

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
Where do I start!!!?? If I could rate these 10000 I would. These have got to be the best green beans on the planet. If you love garlic and love cilantro, you HAVE GOT to make these. They are superfast and super easy. I have probably made them at least 10 times. My family and friends love them so much I can never have leftovers. In fact, we love these so much that they could be our entire meal with meat on the side. I used the long organic green beans but I am sure any frozen green bean will do. LOVE LOVE LOVE-I think this is my favorite saved recipe, NO KIDDING!!

This is a wonderful recipe. Our family does not use cane sugar so I used granulated palm sugar instead. The crust is buttery and oh so yummy. This is a recipe I will make time and time again, looks like a dessert from a restaurant. Thanks!

Big Germans

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2010
This was an excellent recipe. I doubled it and fed my family of 6. I followed the recipe measurements precisely but sprinkled with granulated palm sugar/cinnamon. I passed this recipe to my church family and several made it the very next day, all with rave reviews. Reminded us of a cross between a pancake, donut and flan. Will make this regularly. Thanks!!!

Taco Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2008
Pretty good recipe. I need a casserole dish for our weekly church lunch. Several people don't eat tomatoes or potatoes or green pepper, which seemed to be the things I would want in a casserole. But I found this, changed out the green pepper for green chiles and well-a. Rave reviews for all. I am making it for the 2nd time to enjoy with the family at home.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
I just took my banana bread out of the oven!! MMMMMM. I had been looking for a banana bread recipe for a while since our family always seems to end up with over ripe bananas. I doubled the recipe, used all whole wheat flour, added cinnamon and nutmeg(eyeballed that) and added walnuts. Dough was pretty sticky looking and thick but I decided not to stray from the original recipe and add anything further to "soften" it up. My batter cooked in two 9x5's in only 55 minutes, in fact it could have been done in 50 but I was surfing the web and not checking. This came out great, not to thick, not too dry. Tasted nice and buttery with wonderful overtones of banana. This one is a winner!!
