I found this recipe delicious as is: it’s simple and clean taste was delectable.

Chocolate Truffle Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
I expected great things from this recipe after reading the glowing reviews. Unfortunately, I found myself disappointed. Sure, the dough was extremely chocolatey, however, as a self-professed chocoholic, found myself wanting more. Additionally, the dough was much too difficult to handle.

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
My fiancé is a huge fan of pound cake. When we first met, he raved on and on about the pound cake his ex’s mother would make. I’m glad to say that he loves this pound cake. I haven’t heard a thing about his former pound cakes!

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
Great recipe. I really enjoyed it, however the sauce was a bit bland. I added about six cloves of garlic, but it didn't add a whole lot of depth. Great overall, though.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
Wasn't anything special. Took a long time to bake at the temperature suggested, a good 15-20 minutes longer than the cooking time listed. The flavor wasn't really there, either. Even after I added nutmeg, ginger, and cinnamon. I think I'll just stick with my original recipe.

Diane's Colcannon

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
I, like other reviewers, used a 16 oz. bag of coleslaw mix, instead of a half a head of cabbage. Turned out wonderfully. My family enjoyed it, but it wasn't their favorite.

German Chocolate Cake Frosting II

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2008
As written it was pretty good. Next time I make it I might make a few adjustments, such as decrease the amount of sugar. It was a bit too sweet for me.

Gourmet Mushroom Risotto

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
Sooo good. It may be tedious, but it's most certainly worth it. Next time I think I'll substitute plain white button mushrooms for the portabellas. Portabella mushrooms were too expensive. Not worth it, in my opinion. Excellent! Served four people with generous servings and seconds.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
Turned out wonderfully! My family really enjoyed it. I doubled the recipe...big mistake. We had lots of leftovers, but, since it's so darn good it's been eaten up. Made recipe exactly as written.

The pork chops themselves were great. It was a bit involved, however still delicious. The sauce was mediocre,at best. Nothing special.

Best Brownies

Turned out really well. I followed the suggestion of another reviewer and mixed the batter as little as possible. Turned out closer to fudgy rather than cakey.

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2008
Very good! Like another reviewer suggested, I didn't add the beans to the meat mixture. Instead I spread the beans on the tortillas. I then layered four tortilla's together. I layered the meat layer first, then the beany tortillas (face down). Repeat. Turned out wonderful! Served sour cream, salsa, and other traditional burrito toppings alongside.

Russian Tea Cakes I

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
They were easy to make. At first I was a bit concerned because the dough wasn't pulling together. It eventually pulled together. Tasted ok, but nothing more. Lacked flavor. I will probably be using my original recipe.

Corn Fritters

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
I followed the suggestion by others and increased the amount of sugar to 1/4 cup. I didn't have enough oil, so I just pan fried the fritters in about an inch of oil. They ended up being thick, small pancake like fritters. Everyone enjoyed them. They were excellent. I served with honey butter. Wonderful!!!

Fresh Tomato Salsa

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
Per the suggestion of other reviewers I reduced the amount of the serrano chiles. I only added two, seeds and all. It turned out excellently. Two chiles created a mild salsa.

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
My family enjoyed it, however there wasn't really anything special about it. It tasted just like mashed potatoes prepared without the chicken flavoring and garlic. There really wasn't anything significant about it. It was ordinary.
