Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2010
This has been a family favorite for years! To break up the sweetness of the chocolate, I had a thick layer of fresh sliced strawberries in between the two layers. It not only tastes amazing but looks beautiful with a layer of red in the center. I also sprinkle the top with the heath bar pieces sold in the Chocolate chip section of the grocery store. Great Recipe!

Oven Kalua Pork

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
Although I am not an authority on Hawaiian cooking, I must say this pork is delicious. It is very tender and shreds so easily. I skipped over this recipe several times afraid that it would not be flavorful due to the minimal amount of ingredients, but my entire family loved it! I served it with BBQ sauce and teriyaki sauce.

Pam's Beefy Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2006
I was looking for a recipe similar to my mother's Texas Hash she always made. This was very close. My family loved it. I added about a tablespoon of chili powder, a can of corn and covered it with cheese, put the lid back on and let it melt for about 5 minutes. It was great with cornbread muffins and fresh fruit salad.

Kentucky Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2005
I loved these biscuits. They were very light and fluffy. I doubled the recipe and used half butter and half shortening and they turned out perfect. I also rolled then out and cut with a bisuit cutter, but I put them right next to eachother on the pan. It was only necessary to cook them 10 minutes.

Almond Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2004
We had mixed opinions in my family. Those who love nuts enjoyed it, those (the younger children) who did not like nuts weren't thrilled with it. I really liked it. When making the sauce, I thought it was an unappetizing color so I added about 1/4 cup of cream. It didn't seem to change the taste. Just the appearence. Next time I would add a little more cornstarch, mine was a bit thin.

Gravy Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2004
Our family really enjoyed this recipe. I also made a few changes. To feed our large family, I double the recipe and used a family size can of mushroom soup, doubled the milk and used alchohol free (Fre) white wine in place of the water. I also seasoned the chops with Montreal steak seasoning ans seasoning salt before sauteing them. It was delicious, fast and easy. Thanks for the recipe.

Chicken Delicious

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2003
Everyone in the family agreed-this was wonderful! The chicken was so moist and tender. I especially loved it because it was so easy. I didn't have parmesan cheese in the morning so I picked some up during the day, served the chicken over egg noddles and sprinkled parmesan and mozzerella cheese on top.

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2003
Very delicious and extremely easy. I actually combined two recipes. I added about 4 oz cream cheese garlic powder to taste, and 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese. I also lined the bottom of the pan with muenster cheese and the last 5 min. put triangle of the cheese across the top. My kids wouldn't eat it by my husband and I loved it!

Cream of Chicken with Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2003
This is a very rich and creamy soup. I made if for my in-laws when they were sick and they raved about it. My children weren't as thrilled because of the mushrooms, but the adults loved it!

Pork Tenderloin with Creamy Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2003
This was easy and delicious. I used the sirloin pork chops instead of tenderloin and it was very tender. While browning the pork, I did sprinkle it with seasoning and salt and garlic pepper to add to the taste. The entire family loved it!

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2003
The shrimp was Great. They were tender and seasoned just right. My family was impressed at how they looked-they thought it looked like something a restaurant would serve! I did as another reviewer suggested and used Balsamic vinegar instead of red wine. In my opinion, it could use a little more cayene pepper.

Scallops with White Wine Sauce I

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2003
Excellent! It took about 8 - 10 minutes to broil the scallops, may have been too far away from the broiler. Used taragon vinegar instead of white wine vinegar. Really pretty dish. Poured sauce on platter and topped with scallops. I also added 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic with the onion.

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2002
This soup was good. I followed the previous suggestions and added bacon. I thought it could use more seasoning maybe celery salt or all seasoning salt. Also, I one and one halved the recipe to feed my family of 10, but only used three cans of clams, I should of added two more cans to give it a stronger clam flavor.

Italian Bread Bowls

The bread bowls turned out perfect! They were crispy on the outside and tender in the center. I am a beginner at bread making, but these were easy and delicious. My family can hardly wait to have them again!

Asian Roll Lettuce Wrap

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2002
Great recipe! Instead of making meatballs, I browned the ground beef, added 1 cup of the already cooked rice and poured the sauce over the meat and rice. I also added about a teaspoon of hot chili oil for a little kick. I have eight children and they all loved it. The hot meat mixture in the cool lettuce leaves is wonderful!

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2002
EXCELLENT!!! Crispiest chicken I have ever had. I agree with other reviewers, that it could use a little more seasoning, but overall, the best fried chicken I ever had. I am a little curious though, how it could only have five fat grams, this must be an error??!!

Honey Mustard BBQ Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2002
This was an easy recipe and went over well at the dinner party I served them at. It was a great change from beef or chicken. It also helped that I could put them in the marinade in the morning and be done with the meat portion of the meal.

Crispy Coconut Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2002
This recipe was easy and delicious. Most of my kids do not like coconut so if they didn't ask what was on it i didn't tell them and 6 of the 8 loved it! I too was a little disappointed that they didn't brown, but they were tender and moist
