OK here is part 2 of the Sandwich Blog:
You already have your sandwich all ready to go, so you have to start carefully rolling it up starting from the bottom (bottom being where you placed your last piece of ham). Roll in the direction of where you overlaped the ham so that you are lifting…
I'm single in my mid- 20's living in Chicago....eeerrr back that train up!!! I haven't updated since almost 4 years ago. I'm now still in my mid-20's (for me anything between 21-29 is "mid" 20's) I'm now getting married to a wonderful man with whom I bought a house, a dog (Jalapeno) and cat (Tootsie). I love to try new thing and use friends and family as guinea pigs (that part is still true.) I like to go out but more and more I'm enjoying staying in and hanging out with friends. But when a good cover band is on the agenda..watch out cause here I come! (All those things are still true, except for the fact that we now have many more family and house stuff to do before we have our fun.) Email me if you'd like at anita_klimek at yahoo.com
My favorite things to cook
I love to make anything with peanut butter and chocolate, I love the creamy texture! I also enjoy cakes, cake decorating, and making anything Italian......HMMM, PB & C is still awesome. I don't do desserts as much anymore as I don't really have that much of a sweet tooth. However, I like to try all different cultures and flavors and hope they turn out!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is originally from Poland and my grandma lives with my parents. We always make pierogi, cabbage rolls, and other traditional dishes. My favorite is the beet salad. This part is still the same. We get our pierogi on every year!
My cooking triumphs
This past year I made Thanksgiving dinner for my family. I did a test run on my friend two weeks before the actual date. Although I thought I was going to cry when the bottom of the blender fell off and about 5 cups of chocolate mousse slipped on the kitchen floor, everything turned out well. I deep fried the turkey and it turned out great. Anytime someone asks for a recipe and when the BF said he'd rather eat at my hosue than at a resaurant. These are still all true but I've gotten better at large family gathering and parties (last thanksgiving we had about 20 different dishes...not including desserts. Organization and planning is everything. Even though I did forget to take out the apple buns out of the warmer tray in the oven and they were in there for 2 extra days...I knew at the time I was forgetting something but I couldn't think of what it was!!!!
My cooking tragedies
Although I have make cheesecake plenty of times before, I tried to make it using mini muffin pans. I don't know what I did wrong but everyone of the muffins burnt! I did once make meatballs and left them in the slow cooker over night (I have done this numerous times). However, this time I put it on the low setting instead of the warm setting. Not fun to clean! I also added peppermint to a dark chocolate sauce instead of vanilla. It was like drinking choc milk and Altoids at the same time. I also melt spatulas and kitchen timers like its my job. Last but not least...spilling melted cheese on my hand/wrist....since the last update, nothing as horrific as the cheese incident that left me with a scar that resembles a wristlet when I'm tan (the scar part stays white and I get tan)...BUT I did let pasta sauce boil over on the stove top (in the new house) and it went between the 2 glass panels on the oven door so there is a perm. sauce dripping that is gonna be there til we replace the stove
