My cooking triumphs
AS a young girl, I started making apricot jam from the fruit from my Aunt's orchard. I found the chemistry fascinating, and kept at it every year. I got better at perfecting the consistency and the canning technique. Finally, after 30 years of working over the hot stove every summer, I won a Blue Ribbon at the Dixon May Fair for my Apricot-Plum Jam. I haven't made a "good batch" since. I don't have to, there's pluots!
