About this Cook
My husband and I have traveled all over the world and have now settled down in Southern California where we just started our family with our baby Leia. I love good food and making food for others to enjoy.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking cookies, etc. I make a lot of Italian food, my husband spent a lot of time in Italy and has Italian family, I just find it one of the most inspiring places when it comes to food, it is all about beautiful, fresh ingredients and I feel I can create authentic Italian food but still get a little creative. I love making my own pizza because it is such a blank canvas, any ingredient you love can be made into a deliciou pizza! Baking is my real passion though, making something out of nothing. I could not live without my bread machine!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Not a whole lot here, I have basically taught myself to cook, but my Mom did a good bit of baking and I guess that is where I get my love for fresh bread and brownies!
My cooking triumphs
my cinnamon rolls are pretty awesome, breads and pizzas.
My cooking tragedies
Risotto- I don't know what happened, but it didn't work and i have been too chicken to try it again.

Cinnamon Cookies II
simple and sweet little cookies! Great comfort food with a big glass of milk. I did add vanilla and threw in more cinnamon though. turned out great will make again!

Light Chocolate Chip Cookies
Well most low fat cookies are just weird, but these were the closest I have gotten to real cookies in my low fat experimenting this summer! One reviewer said they were too thin and crispy, but mine were soft and gooey (maybe because I made 16 cookies from this instead of 24?, so each cookie would have more fat, but I don't want chocolate chip cookies the size of a postage stamp)

Bake Sale Lemon Bars
After reading reviews I felt I should give this five stars and say I left the recipe as is and really liked it. Maybe I too like my lemon bars on the sweet side. The only change I made was in cooking time, I think this recipe just really needs to be watched in individual ovens!
