So as part of the Allrecipes Allstar program, I've been asked to use some fancy Reynolds products and tell my experience with them.  I love a good slow cooker recipe but admit to leaving the crock part of my pot in the sink for several days to soak away the gunk that will inevitably form in… MORE

About this Cook
I grew up on a farm in Tennessee learning how to cook what we grew in the garden. I'm definitely a Southern girl at heart and love Southern cooking. I like to say there isn't a recipe I won't try...unless it involves beets. Ha!
My favorite things to cook
Southern food! You can't go wrong with it when you cook for guests - who doesn't like macaroni and cheese? Plus, i know most of the recipes by heart, so I don't have to drag out a cookbook. It also proves the theory that enough cheese can make anything taste good.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My sister and I get together each Thanksgiving and go absolutely crazy. It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without someone making pink gravy, or potatoes turning black, or completely forgetting the squash in the I suppose I would say "Thanksgiving Mishaps" would be our tradition.
My cooking triumphs
I got my husband to enjoy salmon. Granted, we had just started dating when I made it for him and he HAD to enjoy my salmon, but I'm calling it a "W" anyway.
My cooking tragedies
Well, there were the peanut butter noodles that I made with Worschestershire sauce (note to self: just because soy sauce and Worschestershire sauce come in similarly-shaped bottles does NOT mean they are similarly-flavored.) There is also the blackened catfish that turned out more "blackened" than "catfish." My husband still teases me about that (it even made an appearance in our wedding vows!)

Fried Frog's Legs
My husband saw frog legs at the store, gave me that look, and so here we are. I've never in my life tried or cooked frog legs but I was pleasantly surprised with these! We followed the recipe exactly, with the exception of using corn oil because that's all we had, and they came out nicely. We served them with homemade cocktail sauce and jumped in (see what I've done there?) A squirt of lemon once they came out of the fryer would be good but not necessary. Great recipe and I'll be danged if I don't actually like frog legs!

NO YOLKS(R) Noodles Romanoff
This was good! I added mushrooms for a vegetarian main dish and it was quick enough for a weeknight meal. I used regular onions although I wish I had used the green onions (next time!) I added some ricotta cheese also. I'll make again!

NO YOLKS(R) Tuna Noodle Casserole
I really liked this recipe for a quick, warm weeknight dinner in the middle of a cold snap. It was ready in under an hour which was nice. I did make a few substitutions based on what I had already. I didn't have quite enough cream cheese so I added in a bit of sour cream. I also didn't have celery so I left that out and used frozen peas. I also used canned mushrooms instead of fresh and sprinkled some freshly grated parmesan on top. This was a bit different than a normal tuna casserole and I agree with another reviewer that it was almost a stroganoff - which was good just not what I was expecting. I used the No Yolks whole grain noodles and it was great. I also have leftovers for lunch today so bonus :) I'll make this again.
