Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
had this for dinner tonight. Tasted great but all I can taste now is garlic. I guess next time maybe I would cut the garlic in half and strain it or maybe just crush a clove and let it sit over night and remove it before serving. I dunno, it taste really good while we were eating it so I will fiddle with this and see what can be done

Brown Chicken Stock

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
I roasted everything up together as some users suggested. I put all the veggies on the bottom of my pan, then placed the chicken parts on to so that any drippings would coat the veggies. I added a few extra herbs and spices that were on had like parsley, marjoram and a bay leaf. I never would have thought to roast everything rather than browning but I think I will do this every time!

Hearty Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2009
I give this 5 stars for being easy and satisfying! I used chorizo instead of the Italian sausage because we love any excuse to use chorizo but I'm sure the mild anise in the Italian would be great too. Thanks Kelley!

Brazilian White Rice

Reviewed: May 1, 2009
I hate rice, it's so plain and boring and I always mess it up every time, but this was great! It was subtle enough to still work as a side, there was a little too much liquid but I took the lid off a little early to stir it and it came out fine. So much more fun than plain rice!

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: May 1, 2009
This turned out really well. I have never fried rice before cooking it but the flavors really came out nicely! I added onions and garlic to the rice while it was browning and used some taco seasoning instead of the other spices just because I was wanting to use it up. So good! I will probably use a little less chicken stock next time because it was a little wet but rice is so finicky I couldn't blame it on the recipe

Capidotada (Mexican Bread Pudding)

Reviewed: May 1, 2009
I loved this recipe and it's so sad that this isn't getting better reviews! I am surprised by all the people saying that they just aren't in to the sweet/savory combo. It seems to me most people would know this about themselves before going ahead and making a recipe that will clearly have these qualities. seems like you might as well force feed young children a tuna broccoli casserole and then ask them to rate it. Anyways, I give it 5 stars because I LOVE sweet and savory!
