Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2014
Delicious! The recipe made 6 large muffins and really needed more than 20 mins to bake. Next time I'd go 5-10 longer. As so many have suggested, I used apple sauce in place of the oil. I used 1/2 whole wheat flour and added 1Tbsp of ground flax. Used 1/4 cup molasses and 1/4 cup white sugar. Finally, I added 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries instead of the raisins. I will be making this recipe again and again!

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
I'm making this as a gift for a friend today and picked this because of the great reviews. it's still in the oven but smells wonderful! It's taking longer than the recipe says. probably more like 75 mins. I added 1/ cup of roasted and shelled pumpkin seeds to the batter and sprinkled another 1/2 cup of the seeds evenly over the top of both loaves. I can't wait to cut into it!

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Great for Pizza Pretzels as a dip! A little too much garlic for me though. I would add 1/2 the amount from now on.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2002
Awesome! I was concerned that there wasn't going to be enough sauce but there was. Different than my usual alfredo sauce - richer. (reserved for special occasions!) A new favorite!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2002
These were just what I needed to satisfy the chocolate craving! They were more like cake than cookie and the faster you can eat them the better cause they do get dry and crumbly after a day GREAT TASTE!

Egg Foo Yung II

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2002
This was the first time I ever tried Egg Foo Yung (I don't know what it was - I just had this craving and alot of extra eggs on hand!) I omitted the celery because I don't like it but it was very good. Not ever having it before it was as I imagined it. But I thought the sauce would be a little sweeter. Next time I make it (and I will) I will add more sugar to the sauce.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: May 4, 2002
These brownies definately were chocolately. I don't know if it was my oven or the time but they were very wet still in the middle - which made them even gooeier. I would make them again but increase the cooking time by 10 mins. Thanks, it fixed the chocolate crave in my house!

Delicious Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2001
These cookies were good. I didn't add the tablespoon of vanilla - I assumed it was a typo and changed it to a tsp. They are nice and soft. Not too peanut buttery tasting but tasty none the less. I'm not a huge fan of peanut butter cookies but had some pb in the cupboard I wanted to use up and was surprised that I actually liked them. My family of course loved them! I'd make them again..

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2001
I made this pound cake and substituted the almond extract for vanilla. I also added 1 cup of chopped cherries (that had been tossed in flour). Although it took a long time to cook (1.5 hours) it was very good. My husband almost devoured the whole cake!!! I will make this cake again! Thanks for the great recipe!!!
