Slow Cooker Chops

I had high hopes, but I was disappointed. Only modification I made was using bone-in chops because boneless were too expensive. The gravy was watery and bland, even after I added some cornstarch to thicken it near the end. It was still edible, and smelled great, but my daughter only had 2 bites. Oh, well.

I made this for a St. Patrick's Day potluck luncheon at the office, adding a bit of green food colour. I must have done something wrong, because rather than steamed cabbage, I got mostly sauteed cabbage. I followed the directions as written, but maybe I was supposed to add water...? No matter, the end results was quite tasty. A side note: several people commented that they couldn't even taste the cabbage, and that they thought it was all just skin-on mashed potatoes.

Erica's Delicious Slow Cooker Beef Roast

Loved this! I did make the following changes, based upon the suggestions of other reviewers: I used 2 cans of cream of mushroom and added a can of beef broth, and a few halved Yukon Gold potatoes. I also used a packet of Lipton onion soup instead of a fresh onion. The gravy was rich and savory, and it made terrific leftovers, too!

Chicken with Stuffing

Really quite tasty, and SO easy! I omitted the butter in order to reduce the fat content, and I don't think it made any difference as far as taste, because it was very rich.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Delicious! I substituted raisins for the walnuts (no one in my house cares for nuts), and it was just fantastic, and so easy my four-year-old was able to "help" me bake...can't rave enough about it.

Super Sunday Chicken

I have been trying different stuffing and chicken recipes lately, and I did this one last night. I used the roasted garlic cream of mushroom soup, and I found that one can wasn't enough sauce, so I used 2. I also added a layer of green beans between the cheese and the soup sauce (one can of the French-cut, drained). If I had rated this last night, I would have given it only 3 stars, but as leftovers, it was really terrific. Maybe sitting overnight helped the flavours meld...?

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

This was my first attempt at baking ANYTHING, and it came out perfectly. I mostly followed the recipe, except that I don't care for walnuts, so I used chocolate chips instead. And, as several other reviewers suggested, I used three mashed bananas instead of two sliced. I brought the finished product to share at work today, and got rave reviews! A definite keeper!

Easy Slow Cooker Chicken

I made this yesterday, and it turned out well, albeit messy-looking. (But as a single mom of a preschooler, presentation is not all that important to me...) I like that it made good leftovers, and the house made the house smell wonderful. Following the advice of other reviewers, I added a can of chicken broth, black pepper, and some garlic powder. I did find that it needed quite a bit longer to cook, though. It took almost 8 hours on low. Maybe that was because I used whole-grain brown rice instead of white, but I did find that the brown rice imparted a nice nuttiness to the flavor.

Chicken, Stuffing and Green Bean Casserole

I made this last night and really liked it. It tasted even better as leftovers for lunch today. My picky preschooler also ate it both times, including the beans, which is a real plus, because I can't usually get her to eat green veggies. I made only one change: I couldn't find unseasoned stuffing, so I used sage flavored StoveTop. This was fine for us, because I like my chicken heavily seasoned.
