Mexican Lasagna

Made as another reviewer suggested. Two layers, refried beans on the first layer. Really tasty.

Good basic chili, quick and easy to make. Added a few cloves of garlic, 2 jalopenos, and tripled the ammout of chili powder. Also browned the turkey in a seperate pan, drained it, and added the meant to the onion/pepper/garlic that I sauteed in olive oil. Turned out well.

Tomato Sauce with Sausage

This is very similar to a the sauce I have made for years. Decided to try the recipe as made here for a change of pace. Not impressed, not enough spices, too much meat, and after cooking for 3 hours still too watery. I sugest using crushed tomatoes instead of whole, less water, thicker sauce and you don't have to mess with crushing them. I add about a tablespoon of oregano and crushed red peppers for more flavor. I also add a can or tomato sauce instead of water, gives you a thicker sauce. OK recipe as a base, but very easy to improve upon.

BUSH'S® Best Black Bean Soup

Very tasty soup. I took other reviewers advice and sautéed a finely chopped onion, 3 cloves of garlic, and one finely chopped jalopeno in olive oil before adding the beans. I also used hot salsa and the soup came out very spicy. Cilantro is also a must in my opinion. Works great as a main dish if served with bread.

Mediterranean Fish Stew

Made the recipe as listed and found it bland and boring. I would cut the cinnamon in half, add less water, and try to spice it up more if I made it again.
