I made this last night and my kids and husband loved it. I used potato bread to give it a richer taste. I also bought two ham steaks that are individually sealed. They generally run between $3 and $4. Anyway, I fried them lightly on each side and then cut pieces big enough to fit the rolls. After that, I did everything else according to the original recipe. Two ham steaks were more than enough to do 24 big rolls. I think the thick smoked ham portions made the rolls a little heartier. My family of 5 loved the taste and we had left overs for their lunches and mine. Definently, a five star quickie meal or snack.
