About this Cook
I'm living in Seattle and learning to cook! My roomates and I trade off nights of the week making dinner for each other... Cooking for one isn't easy or cheap so splitting it with the roomies definitely helps out!
My favorite things to cook
Healthy foods, Italian, Californian/bistro foods, yummy....
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom makes the best green chile chicken enchiladas on Christmas Eve. We usually have them before we go to midnight mass.
My cooking triumphs
Risotto! I took a cooking class at PCC, a local grocery store, on how to cook risotto and it was the best class I've ever taken. I'm quickly becoming a risotto master, at least among my friends!
My cooking tragedies
I was trying to bake cookies for my mom when she got home from work (I was probably in 7th grade?) and I started to pre-heat the oven as I was mixing the dough. Feeling very proud of myself and excited for how proud my mom was going to be I opened the oven to stick the cookie tray in and saw a small fire had started. My mom puts dirty dishes in the oven to clear off the counter and there were some plastics in the oven. So my cookies were left uncooked, I ruined my mom's plastic bowls and my best friend's mom had to come over to help me put out the fire in the kitchen.... disasterous, and my mom was NOT proud :(

Sliced Watermelon Jell-O(R) Shots
I used 1/2 cup watermelon schnapps and 1/2 cup vodka. The shots turned out great!

Turkey Veggie Meatloaf Cups
I made these last night and they were delicious! I even forgot to add onion, and found I didn't have w. sauce so I subbed in soy sauce. Delicious. I also didn't bother with the food processor and just chopped the veggies very small, I like the chunks of vegetables. Next time I try this, I will remember the onion, could only make this more delicious, right?

Apple Goat Cheese Bruschetta
This was delicious! The apple provided the perfect amount of sweet to go along with the goat cheese.
