Absolutely Perfect Palak Paneer

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2011
This is a great recipe. It is better than anything at a restaurant. Using fresh spinach instead of frozen really makes a difference. You can find paneer in the fridge and freezer section of any Indian grocery.

Honey Graham Crackers

really nice, especially with the cinnamon sugar (1/4 cup sugar to 1 T cinnamon). you need to roll these carefully, because the thinner batches cook much faster than the thinner ones.

Basic Indian Curry with Paneer

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
This was very good. My husband is Indian and he really liked it. I don't know what "tomato puree" is so I used two 8 ounce cans of tomato sauce. I also used chili powder instead of serrano peppers and chili powder. I used about 1/4 teaspoon, you could use more or less to taste.

Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2010
This is an awesome chili and no one even notices that it is vegetarian. I serve it with cornmeal waffles. I do find that it is better if it is cooked longer. I just put it on low all day. also, I cannot usually find black bean soup, so I usually use a can of drained black beans.

Brazilian Cheese Bread (Pao de Queijo)

Reviewed: May 17, 2009
This recipe must have been updated since some of the earlier comments were posted. My dough was very, very thick. I followed the directions exactly, but left out the garlic as I wanted a more traditional roll. They turned out great. I also made them smaller. I used eggs from the farmer's market, which have very yellow yolks, so my rolls turned out much "yellower".

Refrigerator Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
My mother used this recipe for years, and we loved them. She called them Six Week Muffins, because they could alledgedly last that long in the fridge. They never lasted long enough in our house to test that theory. My mother's recipe called for 3 cups of sugar (3X what is listed here) and 2 teaspons of salt (2X what is listed here).

Sweet Potatoes With Feta Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
This was good, and a really different way to prepare sweet potatoes. I grew up on sweet potatoes, and I love them a dozen different ways, but my husband did not grow up eating them. He doesn't like the way most sweet potato preparations are even sweeter - honey, marshmellows, etc. He really liked this. It is also a nice vegetarian meal. I used lots of feta!

Indian Eggplant - Bhurtha

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2007
I liked this recipe very much! I love eggplant, so I am always looking for a new eggplant recipe. I would recommend cooking the onion longer though. I followed the directions exactly and I didn't think the onions were cooked long enough to "meld" with the other flavors.
