Flourless Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2009
I made this for my B-I-L's birthday party and I didn't even get a piece but apparently it was the best thing that everyone at the party had ever tasted....they all agreed it was so rich and moist. I can't wait to make it for myself! LOL I'm giving it a 5 regardless of the fact that I haven't tasted it because it was ridiculously easy to make and got such rave reviews!

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: May 26, 2009
Pretty good...my husband is pretty picky about homemade Asian food and even he thought is was good. I would cut down the ginger next time.

Butter Tarts

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
FAB-U-LOUS! My first attempt at butter tarts and they were so ridiculously easy!! The only 2 things I changed was omitted the raisins since I'm not a fan and used pecans. Secondly since some people suggested adding vanilla I used a vanilla flavoured creamer instead of the heavy cream....fantastic flavour...I could barely wait for them to cool before I ate one since they looked so perfect! LOL

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
Really nice flavour and super easy! I think I may try it with veal next time...thanks for the recipe! I always thought a marsala dish would be difficult but it tastes and smells just like it does at my favourite Italian restaurant!

beautifully perfect flavour...this was my first cheesecake and i was taking it to a dinner party so i followed the directions to the letter; unfortunately it cracked but i just covered it with some chocolate shavings and lined the edges with chocolate covered strawberries and everyone thought is was fabulous! i will definitely make it again.

Easy Sausage Cheese Balls

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
I wasn't too impressed at first but then I found them strangely addicting! LOL Next time I'll take the others advice and add less bisquick so you can taste the sausage and cheese more. I used honey garlic sausage and a strong aged cheddar and you could barely taste them; regardless the recipe was very easy and liked by all so I'll try it again for sure!

Sugar Pie III

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
I give up...I've tried this recipe twice with the same results...a syrupy mess! The flavour was beautiful but like another reviewer, mine was soupy and after hours of being in the fridge never set. WI guess it was still good served over vanilla ice cream...LOL

Traditional French Canadian Tourtiere

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
It had the perfect flavour but a little too crumbly...next time I'll add a little more of the juice back in. Very nice though...the French Canadian hubby actually liked it and he is super picky. Also watch out...the total time is misleading....it took about 40mins longer than it indicated!!

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
Flavour was very nice but the mixture definitely does not fit in one deep dish pie shell!!! I would cut down the milk as well as someone else's review suggested since the consistency was a little to "wet" for my taste.....but my guests seemed to really enjoy the taste so I'll try it again!

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2008
pretty good...not sure what all the fuss is about. hubby and i thought it was bland. the nut crumble (which i used pecans rather than walnuts) on top is a major part of the taste. i'm making it again this weekend for canadian thanksgiving and i'm going to up the spices and add vanilla and sugar.

Jan Hagel Cookies

they're nice but i'm glad i added vanilla to the dough and sprinkled it generously with brown sugar and cinnamon prior to baking because i think it would have been bland.

Peanut Butter Balls II

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2008
super addicting! I used butter instead of shortening and yes, definitely refrigerate or freeze before dipping in chocolate. The only thing I may switch is the semi-sweet chocolate- next time i'm going to use milk chocolate; it's a better complement to the peanut butter. These are definitely always a hit though...I'm always told they taste just like Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!
