Creamy Orange Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2011
I couldn't find orange cake at my local store so I added 1 tbsp of orange extract to my white cake mix and an envelope of dream whip as others suggested. I heated the water that was suggested on the cake box then added one packet of orange jello mix to it. When it was cool I added to the eggs and oil. This turns the cake mix orange and added more orange flavor. I also zested some orange into the batter. After I put the icing on it I sliced up some fresh orange and put it on top of it, it turned out wonderful! I had many compliaments on this cake! Thank you so much for the recipe!

Peach Cobbler VI

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2011
This cobbler was too dry for my liking. Next time I will melt some butter in the bottom of the pan before pouring in the batter. I will also drizzle a small amount of melted butter and syrup from the peaches on top before sprinkling cinnamon, sugar, and nutmeg on top. Has a good flavor, it just needs to be doctored up a bit!

Simple Lemon Herb Chicken

Made a few changes like adding fresh garlic to the oil, crushed red pepper, garlic salt, fresh basil, and parsley. At the end added some chicken broth and covered until finished.

I was expecting a more tender steak ... wasn't the best recipe, but wasn't the worst.

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
I honestly thought this would have more flavor. I followed the other users suggestions of first rubbing the fish with salt and pepper then to saute the garlic, parsley, butter, and lemon juice before pouring on the fish but it just didn't have as much flavor as I was hoping for. I think next time I'm going to try adding the fish in skillet after I saute the mixture and keep it there to cook in the flavor ... maybe that will help.

Broccoli with Lemon Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
This was a good recipe. I steamed fresh broccoli instead of using frozen. I then followed the rest of the recipe and it came out great! Thanks!

Beef Tips and Noodles

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2008
This was a very good recipe. I mixed the cream of mushroom soup with 1/2 can of milk with a wire whisk on the stove then added 1/2 cup of concentrated beef bullion and a little over 1/2 cup of water then the beef and onion soup mix. I also bought a thick sirloin steak and cut it up into 2 in pieces then put it in a bowl with two minced garlic, garlic salt, salt, and pepper and let it sit for an hour before putting it in the baking dish. After sticking the meat in the baking dish I poured the soup mixture over it and added some fresh mushrooms then put it in the oven to cook. This was simply delicious and will be added to the regular rotation of meals at our house! Thanks so much!

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake I

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2008
I have made this a few times and every time it turns out great. When I'm in a hurry or being lazy I just use the ready crust they sell at the store and it still comes out amazing. It's always a huge hit at family get togethers as it's not too sweet. Thanks so much for the recipe!

Roasted Rosemary Chicken And Vegetables

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2008
It smelled and looked delicious, but that's as far as I would go with the compliments. I have definitely had a lot better. I wasn't crazy about the taste it was very boring. The only thing that saved this dish was the homemade mashed potatoes and gravy that I paired with it. The rest of the family was not big on it either. I won't be doing this one again.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2008
So delicious! The meat was so tender it was unreal! My only suggestion would be to add less salt. There was just a tad too much salt for my taste, but overall very good!
