About this Cook
I love to cook and bake for my husband and children! I've learned so much from watching others cook and hearing how they change a recipe to fit their needs. I'm not afraid to go for it, even if I don't have exactly what a recipe calls for. The Food Network and Allrecipes has really made me a worry free cook!
My favorite things to cook
I get great satisfaction when I cook something that was worth the time and effort...and mess. I'm a messy cook! I make some pretty fabulous baked stuffed chops.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to pop in some great Dean Martin or Swing and make cookies like my mom and I use to do when I was growing up! Although, I try not to do that too often since homemade cookies are just about my favorite thing on earth! I can't stay away...which seriously makes my waist line suffer!
My cooking triumphs
I make a nice potato salad that never goes to waste...but I consider my greatest triumph to be a clean kitchen by the time I'm done!
My cooking tragedies
I tried this recipe once ( can't remember exactly what it was ) and it was horrible! I think I got it off the back of a condensed soup can label. All that time wasted! I hate that! That's why I love! I can choose my recipes by ratings and I'm never disappointed!

Broccoli Cheese Soup
This was fantastic! I, like others, doubled the cheese and broccoli and used 1/2 & 1/2 in place of milk. I mixed the cornstarch with the last can of chicken broth instead of using water. I honestly think you could get away w/ 1/4 cup of cornstarch though and I plan on doing so next time. As much as I LOVE the taste w/ all that velveeta, I might try 1/2 velveeta 1/2 cheddar next time. After it finished cooking, I took my handy stick/wand blender thingy and pureed it until almost smooth. This reheated beautifully the next day and it reminds me very much of 99 Restaurant's broccoli & cheese soup. I have 6 children, and over half of them liked this so I call that a win!

Summer Grilled Cabbage
This was so good! Like others, I wrapped mine individually in foil and grilled w/o the pan over indirect heat. Fantastic! Both hubby and myself said we'll make it this way from now on. :)

Crazy Good Stuffing and Baked Chops
I'm the submitter of this recipe and I'd like to note that when you stir in the mushroom soup and the stuffing into the "creamy gravy" cannot simmer this. Just cook it for a few min. I wish I had more control over the editing process of my father's recipe as some things have been changed (like words and time). This really is a recipe that you just eye ball as it cooks. For example, it may take less than 10 min for your pan drippings to reduce by half. ;) Otherwise, a big thanks to the AR staff for publishing my father's recipe!! :D
