Blueberry Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2009
we loved this bread! i made it exactly as the recipe says and it was perfect! i did make 2 large 4x8" panns instead of the miniloaves...i believe cooking time was increased to around 1 hour 15 minutes this way.

Stir-Fried Vegetables

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2008
Wow. I'm sitting here eating this as we speak, and I have to tell you what my first impression of it is! For someone who is trying to watch what they eat and consume more vegetables, this was fabulous! I served it over white rice... and I was just thrilled. This is a method of making veggies that I will keep with me, whether dieting or not! The sauce that goes on this has the familiar taste of butter, somehow, without having used any butter. It's very healthy, very good for you, and pretty easy to make! Don't go stingy with the carrots, they were my favorite part of the meal!

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2008
This was great! I logged on here hoping to find a healthier way of making some sort of french fry that wasn't actually fried. This did the trick and then some. I think i could actually prefer these to actual fried potatoes. I followed the recipe to the tee, and was very happy with the outcome. I had my meal with a grilled cheese on french bread, and i felt like i was out eating at a pub. Quite a nice night considering we're snowed in by 15" of snow in Michigan!

Ultimate Corn Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
Best cornbread I've ever made. Be cautious... mine puked out of my pan and onto the bottom of the oven. Absolutely delicious. Not for the calorie counter.

Jean's Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
I was unsure of the quantity of ginger. I think I added too much because it didn't have the traditional hearty soup taste. Of course, that could be my fault because I didn't put celery in it... and who neglects celery in soup?

Italian Restaurant-Style Salad Dressing I

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
Tastes just like OG! I used it successfully on a ham and cheese sandwich with fancy lettuce. Together with the salad and a chicken soup I made the other day I felt like I stepped into Panera Bread!

Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
Awesome. I learned a neat trick courtesy of the food network. Shrimp can be associated with two things. C (cooked) and O (overcooked). When the shrimp begins to curl into an O then it is overcooked. This is a rule I should have followed because starting the shrimp when I started the noodles caused my shrimp to be a little rubbery. Do yourself a favor: if you're going to start the shrimp at the same time as the noodles, then be sure to have some corn starch and cool water handy (i mixed a teaspoon of corn starch with about two tablespoons of cold water and then added it to the mixture.)

Asian Orange Chicken

fantastico!! best anniversary dinner. my boyfriend and i love love love this flavor chicken. it does need more sauce and i recommend just pouring the sauce on top instead of mixing because the breading peels off.

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2007
By far the easiest and best dough i've made. I tried an experiment and made it both ways (letting it rise for a half hour, and not letting it rise). While I preferred a lighter dough that had risen for a half hour, my boyfriend preferred a more dense dough that was used immediately after mixing it. Definitely cook the dough a little bit before topping... and might i suggest putting aome ham, pineapple, green pepper and onion on there ? :) Oh. I mixed fresh basil and parmesan into my dough. It was great.

Creamy Tomato-Basil Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
I wasn't entirely sure on the first night of this soup that the second degree burns I sustained from pouring hot soup into a blender were worth it. Now, on the second day, with this soup as lunch, i'm re-evaluating. It's pretty good. be sure to thoroughly strain it... all the little seeds sure are annoying when you're trying to have a nice creamy soup. All in all, I'll probably make it again.. but not for some time, because I'm going to put the remainder of this in the freezer for the next grilled cheese rainy day.
