Mom's Macaroni and Cheese

Sooo good. We all loved it; the sauce was thick and coated the macaroni well, and was not stringy or clumpy. I didn't follow exact measurements but I think I was pretty close; however, I did add a bit more salt and pepper than the recipe called for. This was really good and required minimal ingredients so I think it's a keeper!

Princess Cookies

These were pretty good, but a little too cakey for my tastes. I think perhaps taking care not to overbeat the eggs might be the trick. I also highly recommend NOT using the lemon glaze. It has a fake flavor. With powdered sugar they taste good; however, I would recommend finding either a different glaze for the top or maybe trying the glaze with regular sugar. Overall, good cookie!

Amish White Bread

This one is definitely a winner and my husband who used to only love the store-bought Hawaiian rolls has found a new fave. I do often cheat and do the first rise in the bread machine, but I always bake it in the oven after rising once more in the loaf pan. Thanks for sharing! P.S. We love it with the amount of sugar directed. It's not too sweet, but it does well with less sugar for a more normal "roll" flavor with certain dishes.

Bagels I

YUM. These were awesome. I followed the directions exactly...except for not flipping the bagels in the water for a third time on the first batch. I noticed on the second batch that the bagels were much smoother on the top if I did the final flip, and therefore much prettier. Either way, ALL of them tasted delicious even without cream cheese and my family couldn't leave them alone!

Angel Chicken Pasta

After making this recipe for over 2 years, it's time to give credit where it's due. First of all, the creative combination blends very well. Second, when you don't have everything on hand, this is also versatile. I've subbed a bottle of italian for the seasoning packet and wine before; I usually don't have chive cream cheese on hand and reg. cr. cheese works fine, I just add some onion powder and dried chives although I'm not sure it's necessary; I have also made this with regular cr. of mushroom (golden IS better though); I typically use chicken broth instead of wine without really any difference in flavor. However much you want to switch things around to your liking, it still comes out great--but it still deserves 5 stars as is. Thanks for sharing!

Fruity Fun Skewers

I just wanted to add a little tip for keeping the fruit from turning color...a little lemon juice works wonders on apples---I'm not sure if it'll do the same for bananas but worth a try.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations

Wonderful homemade cake recipe. As other reviewers suggested I sifted the flour for the white cake recipe, subbed oil for the shortening, and I folded in beaten egg whites last. Thank you.

Cheddar Beef Enchiladas

I have made these several times and they always turn out great. Even my picky husband loves them (who does not like burritos, tacos, or any enchiladas but the cheese kind). I have never used the topping, and only add the cheddar when I bake them. Excellent and easy recipe!

Bacon Cheese Puffs

I'd say this is would be a five star recipe with a few changes (I've made these several ways). I halved the mayonnaise because they're just too greasy, and I also sub creamy horseradish for the mustard. Oh, and I've done these with bacon I baked (so much easier when doing lots of bacon) and chopped, but I've also done them with real bacon bits--taste exactly the same!

These are every bit as good as the ratings say! They are my friends and family's absolute favorite...so soft! They do crumble easily so you'll want to place them in something sturdy!

Oatmeal Pie IV

I made this for my picky husband who does not like nuts. He still thought it tasted like pecan pie made with nuts (so if you're allergic, this is a great substitution recipe!) However, everyone else loved it!

Kung Pao Chicken

Delicious! I was out of several things so I used some chopped up almonds and a little bit of peanutbutter, I was also out of chili sauce so I used a little bit of cayenne pepper and some red pepper flakes. I also quadrupled the sauce and used green peppers and onions in this recipe. Thanks!
