About this Cook
I've been baking since middle school, and I've recently (a year or two ago) started getting into main dishes instead of just desserts. I love to get creative with my food- The satisfaction of having a fancy looking, delicious dish is something I really enjoy. I'm a nanny, so I've started learning more about how to entice kids with certain foods. (Both boys are very picky eaters.) Non-cooking related info- I'm a juggalette of about a year and half, and I'll be attending my first GOTJ this August. Whoop whoop! I love to write, read, listen to music, and go walking. I'm a big time nature enthusiast, and a very spiritual sort. (Not religious, but spiritual.) I love to learn, and I'm usually very friendly.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts, pasta, breakfast
My favorite family cooking traditions
Deer! I love venison. My dad makes some hella good deviled eggs too.
My cooking triumphs
The yams I made on Thanksgiving turned out amazing, especially considering I'd never made them before, or even seen anyone else make them. I also made the most delicious and pretty mudslide... Added extra chocolate drink mix to the pre-mixed mudslide, in a crystal glass, topped with whipped cream and sprinkled very lightly with cinnamon. Delicious!
My cooking tragedies
I've messed up quite a few recipes.. Main issues have been forgetting to oil pans, having meringue deflate on me, etc.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles
These are by far the best! People are always impressed and think I'm some expert baker when I present these. Lol Took two plates, piled high to my friend's Halloween party one year, with the expectation she'd have some left over for herself. However, every last cookie was gone within 15 minutes.

One Egg Lemon Pound Cake
Not a bad recipe. I creamed the butter and sugar first, then added the egg and stirred it good, then the other moist ingredients, then added the dry to that. Also, I used 1/2 tbs of vanilla extract and the juice of one lemon (about 1/4 cup), no lemon extract because I didn't have any. It could've used a little more lemon juice probably, but it turned out good. I baked it for 50 min. and I coated the pan with sugar before pouring the batter in, and sprinkled sugar on top before baking- gave it a nice crust.

One Bowl Brownies
Most of the brownie recipes I've found were not as good as a box mix. But this one is even better than a mix! It's very simple and has an amazing texture. Very fudgey, just the way I like. I used baking cocoa and sugar in place of the squares of chocolate like a lot of people here. I also left out the walnuts, because i'm not a big fan of nuts in my desserts.
